Epic golf going on too. Too much excitement tonight.
No such thing as watching epic golf. There is epic golf, but it usually involves a lot of beers and some awesome golf cart moments. No such thing as epic golf
Just curious: are you still in China? Wondering what reaction is there to the Lin Yu Ting "controversy." (Of course in Taiwan, I think they are fairly well united behind their country-woman.)No such thing as watching epic golf. I choose to believe he’s an epic troll. If not, I’m inclined to agree with you. Just hard to believe someone can be so dense ALL the time (and throw out bait that suggests he’s basically a pedo).Hes a genuinely ****** person
Yeah, buts its been a consistent character for over 10 years now? I wish I was as enlightened as NAOS to ignore him, maybe one day.I choose to believe he’s an epic troll. I don’t think endurance sports reflects the power differential between men and women. Which in the case of fighting in particular would be a seriously meaningful difference with safety ramifications.Marathon records:
The current world record time for men over the distance is 2 hours and 35 seconds, set in the Chicago Marathon by the late Kelvin Kiptum of Kenya on 8 October 2023. The world record for women was set by Tigst Assefa of Ethiopia in the Berlin Marathon on 24 September 2023, in 2 hours 11 minutes and 53 seconds.

I just got back from China a couple weeks ago. But I'm not really seeing anything about it on China social media. My wife who's Chinese and following the Olympics doesn't even know who she is, only the other girl. China doesn't talk much about people not winning. They definitely don't cheer for Taiwan.Just curious: are you still in China? Wondering what reaction is there to the Lin Yu Ting "controversy." They're drunk. Why are so many players slipping on the courts during this Olympics?
I have heard (from a Taiwanese acquaintance) that when Taiwan defeated China in badminton, there were a bunch of social media posts from China trying to claim that China got two medals in the event. But who knows if this was widespread, or just a few of the ultranationalists online?I just got back from China a couple weeks ago. But I'm not really seeing anything about it on China social media. I'm sure lots people said that. A lot of mainland China firmly believe Taiwan is theirs. But they aren't actively cheering for them to win and especially when they are playing each other. They really want to beat them badly. That badminton loss hurt and they are trying to lash out. In real life most average mainlanders really want to attack Taiwan. Then after greatly punishing them they can unify as one country.I have heard (from a Taiwanese acquaintance) that when Taiwan defeated China in badminton, there were a bunch of social media posts from China trying to claim that China got two medals in the event. I don't know the percentage. But most Chinese are ultranationalist. So yes, I'm sure it was them posting online.

I believe this has been a busted myth for some while, not only that the amount of gold "moved" wasn't as much as rumored, the concept of "stealing from China" is also hilarious from a historical standpoint.Taiwan was actually built with all the gold in China, Chiang Kai Shek and the nationalists stole China's gold reserves before heading to Taiwan at the end of the civil war.

How much gold did Chiang Kai-Shek steal from China to Taiwan?
Answer (1 of 13): 1. he didn’t STEAL, he was the legitimate government of China at the time. Moving your national treasury when it’s under threat is what any sane person would have done. Let’s point out that Spain moved most of it’s gold reserve in the Spanish Civil war to freaking Moscow by the ...www.quora.com
