Olympics Thread

Yep.. it really reflects how active kiwis are. There are parks everywhere and they really nature you if you have talent.

I mean I know we were good at things Iike kayaking and rowing but there were some surprises this year like indoor cycling and men’s high jump.

Those really came out of the left field for me as they’re traditionally not our strong suit.

Amazing wasn't it? It was an event i'd already held in contempt, if break dancing is a sport, then so is golf or those ****ing show dog events. Actually I'd watch show dog events before I'd watch golf or ****ing break dancing. But who knew something could not only live down to your expectations but vastly exceed how awful you believed it could be? (Im sure you girlfriends are aware of this phenomenon, at least the ones that are old enough.)

So i was on the couch when that woman came out and was unable to locate the remote control before she started having what looked like a slow seizure or attempt at self harm by an intoxicated retard. The real disgrace is that they get to call themselves Olympians, like she's earned the title like Usain Bolt or Serena Williams, honestly these break dancers aren't an Olympian's arsehole.
Yeah if break dancing is an olympic sport then so is every other form of dancing. Pop and Lock Gold Medal. Salsa. Tango. Ballroom. Waltz. the Running Man. The butt floss one all the kids do every single time they are on a camera. They are all olympic sports!!

I get this thought process (I've said I could go either way), but there are also a lot of olympic sports that are more artistic than athletic. I'm not sure how breaking couldn't be judged similar to the gymnastics floor routine for example.

Hot dog eating in LA? (strangely I'm listening to a lecture about cannibalism )

I know what kind of glizzies you like to gobble.

No no you filthy animal. It was about the crusades!!!

I particularly liked the bit about the children's crusade arriving in Venice and asking the Italians for passage to Jerusalem, the Italians said "of course its my Christian duty" they loaded them on to boats, sailed to Tunis and sold them into slavery. Isn't religion wonderful?

I'm here to defend golf as olympian sport event. The amount of accuracy and specific kind of fitness it takes from top players to hit those long drives in the lane, the amount of mental steadiness it takes to be great, and how competitive it's world wide.

It seems also very popular. I don't think you have to be dripping sweat in every each olympic sport to justify it.

That said, I'm not a golf fan so idc if they'll drop it out again in some point.

What I'm happy for in LA, is cricket making a long awaited comeback. Not a huge fan of the sport, but the selection of events they have is good to welcome such a sport where Asian nations have many good teams.

Defend away, golf is still **** and doesn't belong in the Olympics, takes a lot of focus and fitness for me to climax on public transport but I'm not calling for it to be an Olympic event.

****ing golf and golfers, I ****ing hate them all.

I get that cricket at the Olympics adds a TV event for about 2 billion people but cricket already has 2 World Cups and Test match title so aren't we already playing enough cricket? (Australians will look at it as two more gold medals by the way) Didn't they get rid of baseball and softball?

Golf was a olympian sport in Rio 2016. I didn't understand the reason they removed it.

In fact, the best choice would be Futsal.

Or Jiu-jitsu.

Basketball 3x3 is a joke too.

Agreed on Futsal, it’s an amazing sport and much more watchable than handball for me.

I’d like to see you with a round of +20 and your pairing scoring -7.

Would you still be looking down on golf then?
