Thoughts on the stock market and

Got a new butt plug and this time it's the real thing so no more trips to the emergency room.

That's no guarantee, I still remember the old days on a night shift walking around ED, whenever you'd see a group of staff huddled around a computer laughing you knew something was up, figuratively and literally.... Anything you could buy in a supermarket would end up there, fruit and vegies, jars of coffee, numerous sex toys. University O week was always a highlight.

I have yet to play the stock market or crypto beyond buying and holding via index funds but just last week I was talking to my wife about doing a little playing around. Now the Warren Buffett quote "be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful" is coming to mind. When will people be fearful enough for me to make my great entrance to individual stocks?
September, 2022. You’re late to the party and lots of **** is expensive. Buffett has been loading up on Occidental tho. Maybe piggyback on him if you feel like splashing around?

Thanks @idestroyedthetoilet. I always planned on using Buffett as my template. So today I opened a Robinhood account and purchased my first individual stocks ever.

$250 of Ulta Beauty
$250 of American Express
$250 of Occidental Petroleum
$250 of Berkshire Hathaway

I'd like to try to buy into companies I use and like. My wife and daughter shop at Ulta(very popular with the kids these days), we use Amex almost exclusively, Occidental Petroleum based on Buffett, and of course went with Warren's company Berkshire Hathaway.

I have about $4000 more to play with. I was thinking Bitcoin, maybe Costco since it's my religion and not sure what else yet.

Best thing I ever did was get fractional shares of Berkshire. Most steady growth in my portfolio. Not the highest growth but solidly upward.

Nice. My wife is laughing at me thinking I'll now be checking stocks every day. I might but I'm a buy and hold type of guy. Hopefully ULTA remains popular, I think it's the riskiest. Not worried at all about AMEX or Berkshire. I guess Kamala as President could negatively affect OXY but in general there seems to be a slowdown in the adoption of electric vehicles so we'll see. They also have a carbon-removal technology which maybe makes them less risky.
