I didn't realize how bad Toronto's roster is, even with RJ Barrett back they stink.Poeltl's comments and lifeless/sloppy play were all I needed to see... Toronto is a darkhorse and may replace a team like Detroit. Pistons seemed very competent and engaged. Still think its like 5th/6th spot for us and we end up with a surprise team that outperforms and a surprise team that underperforms.
Obviously not a great team but I can see Simmons - Sharpe - Avdija - Grant - Ayton winning some games this yearI could see Portland winning more than 30 games if the right guys stay healthy.
Thanks for this list. Really appreciate the effort.I've organized the below in to tiers:
Tanking Tiers:
Should be Bad and Owe a Protected Pick
- Washington's pick is top 10 protected
- Portland's pick is top 14 protected
- Detroit's pick is top 13 protected
- UTA pick is top 10 protected
Should be Bad, but Don't Owe a Pick
- BKN
- TOR
- SAS
Might be Bad and Owe a Protected Pick
- CHA pick is protected 1-14
- Chicago's pick is top 10 protected
- HOU pick swap is top 10 protected
Might be Bad even though they have no reason to be
- ATL pick is unproected (owed to SAS)
- LAC's pick is unprotected by swap with OKC
Should be Good, but if things go wrong, could tank to keep pick
- Miami's pick is top 14 protected
- SAC's pick is top 12 protected
Should be Good, but own their own pick
- GSW
- NOP
- MEM
- ORL
- DAL
- IND
- BOS
- OKC
Should be Good, and have no reason to tank because they don't won their pick
- LAL (to ATL)
- NYK (to BKN)
- MIN (to Utah)
- CLE (to Utah)
- PHO (To BKN)
- PHI (Top 6 Protected to OKC)
- DEN (Top 6 protected to ORL)
-MIL (Top 4 protected to BKN)
Great work but damn, this makes me depressed.I've organized the below in to tiers:

But there are more teams that give up picks if they win too much than I thought there were. That sucks. It's mostly only relevant post trade deadline. Almost all teams are trying to win right now. Once we get to the trade deadline teams will evaluate where they are at and decide if it's better for them to continue to try to win or not.
A little better results but this is gonna be a tough race to winUTA loses by 41 to GSW
POR loses by 2 to NOP
CHI win by 11 over MIL
CHA loses by 5 to ATL
DET loses by 12 to CLE
BKN loses by 15 to ORL
TOR wins by 8 over PHI
This was one trend I noticed when I was looking at the tank competition for the Jazz. Early schedules are tough for a lot of these teams. Partly because when you suck it’s easy to be an underdog but also they play each other more later in the season. SA and Utah are exceptions to this. I had a hard time find a schedule that made me believe one of the tank t ams could surprise a little.SAS win by 3 over HOU
CHI loses by 19 to OKC
TOR loses by 11 to MIN
DET loses by 6 to BOS
WAS loses by 19 to CLE
CHA loses by 8 to MIA
Mostly tanking teams haven't been playing each other yet.
Ben Simmons would like a word.DET has played really well, but had some heartbreaking loses. They look competitive against good teams. Tobias Harris is simply the biggest check stealer of all time, however, and I don't think I accounted for that enough.
The tank gods have blessed us tonight.Looks like Brooklyn and Portland pulled off the upset wins.
