No "they" werent. Some wanted Podz in the deal or no deal. I dont think anyone was even subtracting FRPs to get him.People here were acting like Podz was the messaih as well. For two weeks Podz was the greatest basketball player of all time.

The only way for a player to be a must in a trade conversation is for him to be some basketball messiah ?I must have been imagining the countless posts and conversations I had with people how Podz is irreplaceable in any trade package and any trade without him is a non starter. If on there was a thread where I had all these conversations. Shame it doesn’t exist…..
He’s a good, young role player on a rookie deal. Excellent for a team in GSW’s situation but not this crazy irreplaceable player for a team in a complete opposite situation.

Wait, you saw me say we are not tanking in the post you quoted? Weird. So we're definitely not tanking next season?
I think I've heard that one before.
Lmao, there's a huge difference between Podz having to be in a GSW trade package for it to be a viable package and the makebelieve BS you said a few post ago.I must have been imagining the countless posts and conversations I had with people how Podz is irreplaceable in any trade package and any trade without him is a non starter. I’d prefer the jazz get their asses kicked. Let’s break spirits tonight.Nice.
Let's secure another home loss. Hopefully the same script as game 1. Fun close game that we barely lose

Curry, Dray, and Melton are "questionable". I bet they'll sit. Scared of the altitude. This is not about tanking, I would say the same if we were trying to contend...but the league truly does have a problem with players sitting out/not caring about the regular season. Player's health should always be a priority, but the solution is not to have a half assed regular season. The NBA and players need to come together and find a solution that does not include greatly diminishing their product.

It kinda did. I was confused by the whole thing. That did not happen.

If it was Moody and Kuminga instead of Podz all of sudden it’s garbage and not even worth talking about. No deal with Podz involved was ever going to get done, he is worth so much more to them to us. Like I said in the other post, didn’t make sense that the former two were considered nothing and Podz the holy grail.
Now, there were some who thought we deserved all three and also every single pick possible. And to those people, I would just say that was never going to happen.
I know its in your name, but your tunnel vision for "the next pick" disables you from seeing the 10 or so young players we are already developing.I’d prefer the jazz get their asses kicked. Let’s break spirits tonight.
The argument is that Podz is a winning player who helps you win games and can fit in with any team we are building. He can shoot and play defense. Kuminga might not be a winning player, and would be a more difficult fit on potential future teams.
People get carried away.I don’t mind thinking Podz > Kuminga. I thought Podz being soooo much more highly valued than Kuminga and Moody was odd. This is especially the case considering the direction and financial situation that we would be going in a post Lauri world. I can understand the extreme importance for a team in the Warriors situation to have that production on a rookie scale deal.
TBF, it may just be the case of really hating JK and MM….but I actually agree 100% with your assessment on Podz. I just don’t agree with that being an irreplaceable trade asset whereas the former two are not worth anything. A simple preference for one or the other isn’t crazy, but I don’t see the extreme gap that was presented in that trade thread.
I wasn't involved in the discussion much but read a lot of it and I remember it like you, the impression i got from the discussion was that Podz was an amazing all star type player. If it was Moody and Kuminga instead of Podz all of sudden it’s garbage and not even worth talking about. No deal with Podz involved was ever going to get done, he is worth so much more to them to us. Yes, this was the reality for 99% of the board. Maybe 100%The argument is that Podz is a winning player who helps you win games and can fit in with any team we are building. He can shoot and play defense. Kuminga might not be a winning player, and would be a more difficult fit on potential future teams.
