Kamala Harris for Pres

Whats going to happen to GD after Kamala wins? I truly wonder what these Trump people will do in a post-Trump running for President world

actually, Lyman lost his primary to Spencer Cox over the summer 45-54 percent.

Why should he be listed as the Republican nominee if he lost? What would the point of the primary be?
That would be the point of a Republican primary. The Democrats have a slightly different system. The point of a Democrat primary is to go through the motions then throw away all the votes along with any claim to legitimacy, and instead conspire with delegates to rig the election.

I'm well aware he lost his primary. I thought that goes without saying.

I thought he was trying to get on the ballot as an independent or something post-loss. This is secondhand info; I could be wrong.

No, that’s not what happened. You definitely heard wrong. Perhaps you heard disinformation from his running mate Natalie Clawson? Or her sisters, Stephanie Liberty Grant or Tiffany America Barker or Michelle Steele? They’ve been on a social media blitz for the last few months spreading nonsense. They’ve been really vocal.

Phil won the party caucus. But because Cox had obtained enough signatures, Cox and Lyman entered a primary race. Lyman then he lost the primary race convincingly. Lyman litigated over the Cox signature route and lost. Then he entered as a write-in candidate. And in Trump like fashion, he has spewed a bunch of disinformation about the primary election which has obviously confused some voters.

The truth is the party caucus voters are the most extreme and rabid voters in the state. They’re voting for candidates who are very unpopular among regular GOP voters. After Bob Bennett lost in the caucus, the legislature passed legislation that creates two routes to win the primary:
1. Win the caucus vote
Or
2. Lose the caucus vote but obtain enough signatures from party members to enter a primary runoff.

We’re seeing increasingly that candidates like Mitt Romney and Spencer Cox lose in the caucus to Trumpy candidates only to win easily in the primary. The issue is the caucus, the caucus is increasingly out of step with regular voters. Which, isn’t surprising, as caucus voters are the most intense and Fox News addicted folks out there.

Not only are they the most rabid voters, they are the ones with the most spare time because the caucus is an entire evening of in-person activity. So they are probably going to be heavily leaning towards older voters.

Amen. Even if you wanted to participate, many of their meetings are like Tuesday night or an entire Friday and Saturday during the day. Regular people have jobs and families and just aren’t able to make that kind of commitment. This last caucus primary I had a friend who was a Republican delegate. It lasted from something like 7 am until 11 pm. He left early because he just couldn’t make that kind of sacrifice. He’s got family to take care of.

So you’re absolutely right.

IMHO, they should get rid of the caucus altogether. It would serve republicans In this state better. We need more romneys and fewer Lees.

Yeah, I'm a registered Republican in district 3. The caucus for me started at 7pm. At the time I got home at 6:30 after a 12hr shift and had to wake up at 3:45 the next morning to get to work by 6am. I just couldn't do it. Turns out it was a disorganized disaster that went past midnight.

The caucus system is intended to discourage average voters from participating.

I don't want Trump to win. I'll tell you what though. If Harris wins, which I hope she does, She better pop the **** OFF in the presidency otherwise this fascism problem is just going to be delayed for a few years. So far, based on her campaign's messaging, I don't feel great about both prospects: winning the election and popping off.

bingo excellent point.

She's such an atrociously inept candidate.

If trump would go away then maybe the GD would go back to discussing movies, art, camping/fishing, pet peeves etc.
trump goes away and the whole country probably thinks about, posts about, talks about politics away less often. Which would be nice.

What’s brilliant? I don’t get it.

That looks like an extremely senile, unfit, old man who painted his face orange and can hardly get a sentence out.

What is the context of your post? Who/what is brilliant and why?

It was the Mongoose post since yours. Haha
Oh I looked at it. Ya trump looks like an idiot. Bleached eyebrows, bleached wig, spray tan. Lol
Also it isn't brilliant. It's childish. Like how did he come with that idea!? Someone called him garbage and he somehow thought of a garbage truck?

Anyone who thinks that kind of connection is brilliant has a very low bar
