Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Dylan Harper is kind of meh to me as a top prospect. Not sure he is a top 3 guy in the class.
What don’t you like? Biggest thing that pops for me is his craftiness and footwork. He has great size and I think he can be a high level scorer. Just super smooth with the ball in his hands.

I mean, he isnt bad by any means, but he's a mediocre shooter with mediocre athleticism. I dont see him being close to the level of Demin.

To me, Demin and Flagg are the only certified top 5 prospects currently (to a lesser extent Edgecombe too because of his Olympic games and his insane athleticism). I need to see a lot more from everyone else. Not that they are bad or disappointing, but it's early and no one else has popped in the way those two have.

I need to see it consistently from Demin against better competition before having him jump into the top-3.

I'm not going to disagree with the experts, because I haven't seen enough, but curious what you think Flagg has done that puts him at a different level than the other guys?

In the McDonald's game and Nike Hoop Summit, where they were all playing together, he didn't separate himself at all. In fact, Harper was the guy that separated himself in the McDonald's game and Traore in the Hoop Summit.

I 100% understand why you can't take too much from these games, and why guards might look better in those games than forwards. On the other hand that is the only direct comparison we have. Besides the Team USA thing, which I think is a little overblown, it's not like Flagg has come out in his first two games and been significantly better either.

I mean he's a 6'8/6'9 legit PG with athleticism and shooting. I dont really need to see more. He could stop playing today and he'd be in my top 3.

Maybe Bailey supplants him if he's really amazing (which I really dont anticipate), but I think him and Flagg are going to hold down the 1/2 spot in my book.

3-5 seems like a competition between Harper/Bailey/Edgecombe/Jakucionis/Johnson/Traore with maybe an outside shot of a Riley/Bethea (doubt he gets enough minutes to truly pop, but I think he's very good)/Mgbako sneaking in.

Flagg just has the entire package on both ends and he's the youngest player in the class. I've drunken the kool-aid.

Demin could easily blow past these guys with athleticism and size. My read is doesn’t because he prefers not to. His pick and roll ability is crazy, his reads into the lane are crazy, his reads under basket are crazy, his skip passes are crazy, his step back threes while manipulating the screen are crazy, his dunks over traffic are crazy.

I really need to see Harper shoot it better or really set up his teammates better before I fully buy into him being the jumbo lead guard he's been sold as.

If he ends the year shooting sub 70% from the FT line and sub 32% from 3, I would be a bit worried about taking him in the top 3.

Just due to his size, scoring ability, and handle, he will probably finish comfortably in the top 6 for me.

I wouldn’t take too much stock in Ron Harper. Honestly there’s a good chance none of these guys re sign with the jazz.

Gun to my head I would probably have Kasparas Jakucionis as my 3rd prospect currently. Really has a complete game and while not overly long or athletic, is very physically strong for his age.

Demin and generally all foreign players are much less likely to want to leave Utah than usual. He already seems to have a BYU girlfriend, so we'll see how that goes...
