I can see how much you want to believe that, but if the case was ever about anything other than political theater it would have been prosecuted in early 2021. No new evidence came out in the last 18 months. All of the prosecutions were initiated in the past 18 months in order to be making headlines in a period where they could sway the 2024 election. The irony is that without the prosecutions, Trump likely wouldn't have won. It was the repeated failures of these flimsy prosecutions that made Trump appear strong.

Then Trump walked out on a debate stage versus Joe Biden who all the media repeatedly swore was "sharp as a tack". The result was to make Trump look clear and in command.

If not for AG Garland. Waited way too long to focus on the real criminals. We don’t do business that way. We don’t call state officials asking that votes be added for the losing candidate. We don’t inspire the creation of alternate electors to vote opposite the will of the people. We don’t commit dereliction of duty by watching TV, for hours, while the People’s House is invaded. And yet, Garland was too lame in the brain(?), to factor in appeals by Trump, that would not allow the prosecutions to proceed before the 2024 election season. Garland thought: “I’ll wait, until there is not a snowball’s chance in Hades that any trials will precede the 2024 election”. Because, filing earlier, and getting a conviction, that would not influence the 2024 election? Garland did not weaponize the Dept. of Justice against Trump. Trump tried to steal the 2020 election. I could see a new American tradition where on their way out an administration does a prophylactic series of pardons for their close allies, family and friends to prevent the incoming administration from going after them.
