You could be right as far as CMB as an NBA prospect, but I still love him. I haven't seen enough of Sorber to love him yet.

Sorber has a lot of the same skill set but he's bigger. He has Wendell Carter type size and game.

I haven't watched Sorber yet. CMB plays well within the flow of the game and makes a variety of plays. He has potential as an adequate defender, connector and scorer with some physical presence, particularly inside at this point. He'll need to make adjustments to play out on the floor in the NBA. It's not a given that it'll happen.

Edgecombe's handle isn't great. His passing is so-so. His shooting isn't very consistent. His defense and athleticism are eye-opening, but he's not a polished prospect by any means at this point. He's not a lock in the top half of the lottery, imo.

Guys get drafted based on athleticism and very little tools all the time. I think what will hold him back is his size, but for what it's worth he doesn't look small to me.

Ryan Smith isn't alone as there are several BYU guys with deep/generous pockets, but he's definitely the primary dude here.

Ryan smith is one of multiple BYU donors who are billionaires. From what I understand he isn't the top contributor to BYU NIL collective.
Another note, from the beginning of the AJ recruiting battle process all universities in the running agreed to the requested NIL amount. Apparently there was no bidding war that BYU won. NC, Alabama, BYU, etc were all offering the same amount of money (the amount AJ decided on). He choose BYU over the other contenders based on non financial reasons (according to AJ he chose BYU primarily based on the coaching staff being the best at getting him ready for the NBA)

I'm highly doubtful Kevin Young was the deciding factor here, lol.

The only thing Kevin Young is known for is Durant having Shams write a hitpiece against Young and Vogel right after the sweep against the Timberwolves.

That's just what AJ said. Everything I hear is that Kevin Young is a great recruiter.
8 years of NBA coaching experience might matter to a future NBA player (and does matter according to what he said). Idk.
Maybe it's the church environment? Maybe the academics? Maybe BYU's terrific college basketball history (I'm being facetious here lol).
Money being the same at each university courting him, what do you think the deciding factor was?

Well do we actually know the money was the same? BYU just lands two of their best three recruits in its history in back to back years cuz of a coach that has never been HC in the NBA?
