It is sad you don't have the same set of morals when it comes to teachers, who are by far the biggest perpetrators as a job class of molesting children. Statistically, a young person is over 20 times more likely to be molested by a teacher than by a church leader.I know this isn’t popular to say on this message board with so many trolls rampaging through it. But I think congressmen raping teenage girls and then paying for their silence is wrong.

An epidemic of sexual abuse in schools

PRESS RELEASE: New DFI Report Uncovers a Systemic Failure by Federal, State, and Local Authorities to Prevent Sexual Abuse of Students in Public Schools
Teacher unions, school districts, and the U.S. Department of Education must be held accountable for the epidemic of sexual abuse in public schools WASHINGTON—A new report released today by the Defense of Freedom Institute for Policy Studies (DFI) finds that public schools have experienced an...dfipolicy.org
The silent epidemic : primary school educators and their impact on the incidence of child sexual abuse in Trinidad and Tobago
This study was designed to investigate the silence towards child sexual abuse and the role that teachers within the Trinidad community play in this silence. The ten teachers who were chosen to take part in this study were primarily selected because of their length of teaching service and the...digitalcollections.sit.edu
It is estimated that 7% of all Middle School and High School students are targets of sexual abuse by teachers. Even if Gaetz did party with a prostitute who was on the young side, that is still infinitely better than a teacher molesting a child in Middle School, and there are thousands of such cases involving teachers every year.
Yes, on the young side. Beyond the age of consent in most of the United States but young. None of that is to say it isn't an evil but I see a 17 year old taking money for transactional sex as a lesser evil than a teacher abusing their position of trust to molest a 11 to 14 year old Middle School student. I see one as worse than the other.Party with a prostitute who was on the young side?
...and for that view of one being a greater evil, you think my kids should be kidnapped or killed. Even under the reading that you mean it should be the state kidnapping my kids, that is still awful and I doubt any moderators will take any action. It is little wonder why this site has no conservatives. If you have kids I think they should be taken away from you.
I'm putting you on ignore because I don't like normalizing child rape. You apparently approve of child rape depending on circumstances. I'm sure it was all the 17 year old prostitutes fault, right?
I think congressmen raping teenage girls and then paying for their silence is wrong.
Are you telling Thriller that you believe he approves of teachers sexually molesting children in their care? Yes, such molestation does happen. Been one or two cases where I live, recently. But, it does seem like you’re simply deflecting from the subject: Matt Gaetz, and the astonishing fact that the president elect wanted Gaetz to be our nation’s Attorney General. This isn’t about where in our society the potential for sexual molestation of children occurs(Roman Catholic priests have been a well known venue for molestation as well), and which venue is more egregious. It’s about one congressman, Matt Gaetz, and his qualifications to be the head of our Justice Dept. I get the impression you believe Gaetz would be a great choice for AG? Gee, wonder what that says…..It is sad you don't have the same set of morals when it comes to teachers
Not approves, but rather deflects and fails to condemn when the perpetrator is an educator. You can find post after post from Thriller bringing to attention an awful story involving anyone even tangentially related to conservatism, and he almost always lumps church leaders into his comments. When it is a teacher who is involved, Thriller is always defensive or silent. Always. As I said in my comments, I find it sad he doesn't "have the same set of morals when it comes to teachers".Are you telling Thriller that you believe he approves of teachers sexually molesting children in their care?
Then you haven't read what I've written on that topic. I condemned it in no uncertain terms when Gaetz was first nominated.I get the impression you believe Gaetz would be a great choice for AG
He's a troll. He hides behind a facade of occasionally reasonable takes and conversation but don't mistake that for anything but the set up. He's in it for his jollies, nothing more.Party with a prostitute who was on the young side?
Damn bro, you lost all credibility with me. Not only that. You're ****ing gross. Gross.
Get your ****ing head on straight and read that **** to the people in your life you respect. If it passes with them then **** the lot of you, there is no hope. But hopefully they steer you in a better direction as a person because you are bankrupt.

Gross man. Gross.
I honestly can't believe you just posted that. What a self-report. I feel sorry for any children close to you. If you have kids I think they should be taken away from you.
Gross.
I think he believes the vast majority of what he says. He's a troll. He hides behind a facade of occasionally reasonable takes and conversation but don't mistake that for anything but the set up. He's in it for his jollies, nothing more.
Eh, maybe. But the fact that he uses plenty of setups for straight up trolling tells you that, at best, he's disingenuous and intellectually dishonest. Ergo, not worth engaging with.I think he believes the vast majority of what he says.
Yikes. Yeah, he’s nasty. He’s probably the biggest troll remaining. I think if a few more of you place him on ignore and keep him ignored, he’ll leave the place to go bug others. He’s bored, living at home in his parents’ basement, and just tries to work people up. I placed him on ignore a long time ago and haven’t missed out on anything. Sometimes it sucks to go pages with only one or two visible posts from people responding to him. But ultimately, he adds nothing to my life or enjoyment of this website. Block and move onParty with a prostitute who was on the young side?

Well, yes, I admit that may indeed be the case, “haven’t read what I’ve written”, that is, in fact, accurate, at least 95% of the time. Then you haven't read what I've written on that topic. I condemned it in no uncertain terms when Gaetz was first nominated.
Claiming that moderate positions are disappearing is like being on an outbound ship and claiming the shore is disappearing. The secret of the last election is that Trump was the moderate. On nearly every issue, Trump moved to the moderate position. Lefties reacted by sailing off ever leftward to distance themselves and ended up alienating most of the country. This could certainly exist as a separate thread. The disappearance of moderate positions in the political life of Western nations. It’s come up before, in our political threads, the understanding that America’s drift rightward is not an isolated phenomenon.

Across the west, the centre right is collapsing – and with it, any notion of what is ‘too extreme’ | Owen Jones
So-called moderates are mimicking populist demagogues, with potentially disastrous consequences, says Guardian columnist Owen Joneswww.theguardian.com
“None of this is to be sentimental about the old centre right, which from the 1980s onwards increasingly offered sink-or-swim economics and military adventurism. It is to recognise that democratic norms are no longer in fashion, and the consensus over what is “too extreme” has collapsed.
On each side of the Atlantic, mainstream rightwingers – in politics and media – embrace positions they would previously have resisted. From naked bigotry to disinformation to treating opponents as dangerous national threats, the trend is clear. Where will it end? Here(Great Britain), there is no obvious answer, because the borders of the mainstream right are no longer policed. The tragic truth is that the western world may only get this out of its system when confronted with the consequences of such an ideology. A grim reckoning awaits us”.
Well, God willing, I’ll see what happens over the course of Trump’s term. I don’t care how you interpret Trump, that’s your business, and your right. Are Western nations drifting right, in large part due to immigration issues? Yes, I think so. Myself, I think in terms of migration triggered by climate change. The Himalayan glaciers are melting, and are the source of fresh water for many on the Indian subcontinent. Point being, if migration into Western nations is triggering so much anti-immigrant and rightward drift now, will it not get worse? I can’t tell you definitively, and I’ll likely be in my grave before it’s as bad as it may get, but it’s something I consider, and it is on the minds of some….Claiming that moderate positions are disappearing is like being on an outbound ship and claiming the shore is disappearing. The secret of the last election is that Trump was the moderate. On nearly every issue, Trump moved to the moderate position. Lefties reacted by sailing off ever leftward to distance themselves and ended up alienating most of the country.
Take the issue of abortion, which lefties campaigned on heavily in this last election. For forever, the Republican position was to make abortion illegal. Trump got the GOP to drop that plank entirely from the platform. Trump supported the pro-choice position with limits and wanted to give the people the power to determine where the limits were on the state level. When Florida sought to enact a 6-week limit, Trump used his platform to condemn it as not enough time. He wanted more weeks. Trump’s stance was a moderate, centrist position.

Donald Trump says Florida’s 6-week abortion law is 'too short' • Louisiana Illuminator
Former President Donald Trump said Florida’s law banning most abortions after six weeks is “too short."lailluminator.com
The democrats reacted by refusing to name any restriction on abortion, including birth. To drive that home, they put Tim Walz on the ticket, a governor who enacted rules under which there have already been eight “abortions” of babies after they were born. That is not a moderate, centrist position.
You can go issue after issue, and Trump’s positions are right in the middle. Lefties can’t see that because they only take in the cartooned Trump positions from their side’s propaganda, such as Trump wanting to enact a nationwide ban of abortion. Now after the election, many of the deluded are waking up to how they’ve been living on lies, and the ratings for the media outlets who pushed those falsehoods are cratering. If you are worried about the disappearing of the shore, you can turn the boat around to come back in. Those of us on the shore haven’t gone anywhere. We’re right where we were.
Examining the recent political changes, just in Europe, the above statement is accurate. And, here, in the United States, it’s also accurate. I really do not expect Trump to abandon disinformation, bald face lies, calling fellow citizens “the enemy within”, encouraging anger and hatred toward fellow citizens, etc, etc. And, from a Rightward perspective. On each side of the Atlantic, mainstream rightwingers – in politics and media – embrace positions they would previously have resisted. From naked bigotry to disinformation to treating opponents as dangerous national threats, the trend is clear.
I will stand by the preceding statement as a much more accurate picture of our present moment than what you come up with.Claiming that moderate positions are disappearing is like being on an outbound ship and claiming the shore is disappearing.
Of that I have no doubt. Data points such as the massive electorate shift among historically disadvantaged demographics toward support for Republicans and away from Democrats will be disregarded in the vein effort to cling to the idea of bigotry being the motivator instead of economic class being the dominant driver. Likewise the ratings collapse at outlets pushing the laughable idea of Biden being sharp as a tack, and Kamala polling ahead of Trump in Iowa as viewers get wise to distrustful sources.I will stand by the preceding statement as a much more accurate picture of our present moment than what you come up with.
