Is it though? So far Sheppard is averaging 3 PPG, 1 APG on the 32% - 28% shooting. He was a guard drafted in the top 3: none of the guards drafted top 3 had such a poor start to their career as he did. Except, maybe for Fultz, but even Fultz posted better stats. Unless Sheppard dramatically improves in the next several years he is on pace for the worst rookie season as a guard from the top 3 since...at least 1999 ( I did not go deeper in the past).

Historically, if a guard is drafted in the top 3 he is standing out so much that he is ready to produce right away.

But IF I could trade for him I still would. I think he is in a bad situation to be effective. You put him on the Jazz as the starting PG and his number would flourish.

Flagg/Wolf/Filipowski would be a crazy amount of size/ball-handling/playmaking/whiteness on the court at the same time.

Wolf is like a Diaw/Slow-mo hybrid….idk if it’s going to work on either end, but it’s fun to watch.

The thing is he looks INSANELY fast with the ball. Like maybe the fastest ball-in hand 7 footer of all time. Then you see him jump and it's like Jokic level vertical ability.

Yeah, super agile. He moves like a guard but looks like he can barely dunk lol. His passes have some incredible pace on them too, and he throws them one handed with either hand.

I don’t think some of the stuff like shot blocking will be a 1:1 translation to the NBA, but it’s a good indication of his defensive hands/IQ and overall ability to make things work at the next level.

I would be completely sold on him as a lotto pick if I believed more in his shooting.

Dent’s pace and arsenal of floaters reminds me of Conley.

Demin has flashes, but he probably could use another year of seasoning. As a BYU fan I'd love that, and with his NIL money it may be palatable for him to want to play a year with AJ and get a lot of overflow attention if his stock drops into the teens this year.

There is an article about this. Quite from Demin is "i never said I was a one and done." His friends are putting preasure on him to play with AJ.

I think that would be great for him as he performed the best when Dallin Hall was injured. He would have the keys next year to run the offense.

He could come back and show his shooting is better and his defense and scoring.

Would be awful for the Jazz's 2nd pick. Want as much talent as possible in the draft, especially if the Wolves miss the PO.

Flagg back up to a respectable 54% TS% and a nutty 13.4 BPM.

Everything looking pretty good statistically other than the 30% from three. Hopefully that gets up to like 32-33% by the end of the year. The higher the better, obviously.

DBPM is the statistic that is heavily influenced by the teammates: it will be much higher for the players on the teams with best records, such as Houston. Case in point is Walker Kessler. He is currently having the highest DBPM on the Jazz at 0.7 but it is much lower that his DBPM last season (1.3) and in his rookie season (1.5). This season he is the 140th in DBPM (and the 42th best defensive center), well behind such defensive stalwarts as Luka Doncic and Mike Conley... and, yes, two times less productive defensively than Reed Sheppard.

Still have not gotten to the point of contention, what even makes Sheppard a comparison point for Kasparas? I was a big Sheppard believer, but the concerns about him were real. Kas does not have those same concerns. We can't just randomly compare players to other ones with no rationale or reasoning.

If you group Kas, Fultz, and Sheppard together you are the one that needs some explaining to do.

His shot looks good to me, especially when he's fully set. To me has the entire package without a single weakness.
