What's new

My unhealthy love for Brice Sensibaugh…

I like Sensabaugh off the bench. He can create his own shot and be the main guy off the bench. Jazz need scoring off the bench in the future with JC leaving. He has been great the last two days. I would like to see him contribute in other ways like rebounding and a few assists.

Sixth man works for him. Think less and do.things he does well and doesn't have be the best defender. I am slightly worried about the tank but we still play in the west. But Hardy has the pieces to challenge for wins.
That’s not the point. He’s a 21 year old second year player on a rebuilding team. Hes got plenty of time to be a sixth man. That’s not the priority. Priorities are to help the players progress and figure out what they are. He should’ve started.

So Hardy should have messed with the sauce that was allowing Brice success?

Is becoming more healthy everyday.

Dude is improving, and want to see him in the starting lineup. I get why he isn’t starting. But man he’s talented and he’s only 21 in his second year. Some point in the next year or two I think he forces his way into the starting lineup. Maybe Collins gets traded and he’s moved up into the starter role.

I see so you've started fancying boys? Luckily I have a doctor for you

I've been saying this for awhile now, but he reminds me a lot of Bogey. His per minute production is already actually quite similar to Bogey. His primary value is going to be a lights out, efficient 3 point shooter. From there he can add in a little bit of self creation and potentially score on some mismatches....but there's still an element of cringe when he tries to do to much with the ball. The good news is that he's still very young and has lots of runway to improve. Defensively, I don't think he'll ever be good, but I like his effort. His rebounding and physicality can be a little more consistent, but he's made a lot of progress on that end as well IMO.

He reminds me more of a Tobias Harris body Joe Johnson type. He does not rush. Agree he has time to develop. Just hope his knees hold up.

He also needs to do some boxing or other sport to improve foot speed for defense.

Brice is way better with the ball than Bogey was, even at Bogey's peak.

I think his ball handling is better, Bogey could barely dribble sometimes, but I think Brice has a ways to go with his decision making. Very turnover prone and the ball often sticks in his hands too long. He has made significant improvements just in this season alone. AST/TOV has gotten much better over time.

He's basically a lottery pick or even top 3 candidate if the draft was ten years ago. Same as Melo/Iso Joe who resorted to being offball jumpshooters in their twilight years. An unfortunate casualty of modern day fast pace basketball. But the kid is undoubtedly a very talented scorer and will enjoy a nice long career in the league, even as an instant offense off the bench.

He was a lotto candidate two years ago and probably would have been in the lotto without injury scares.

He's already beating one of the big red flags with his availability and trimming up his body. Really putting it together right now. Stuff is so intentional/smooth with him versus what it was last year. Keep building on his strengths and play better defense and he's really on to something... hopefully.

BTW Brice and the other 1st and 2nd years players are the last guys you'd sit because of a tank. If they are leading you to too many wins then you are fine.

I still believed in his shooting after his first year (he was legitimately and amazing shooting prospect out of college)….just took some time for the decision making aspect to catch up and hopefully it will continue to get better. At 21 it’s one of the more understandable flaws.

One thing that many did and Spence Checketts (who has come unbearable to listen to talk about the Jazz) was they wrote off all these guys like they were busts early in the year. Like the trend of the show was simply to punk the Jazz... "we tanked 2 years and our best young player is Flip?". Brice has been solid all year then breaking out this weekend is a reminder that like sometimes it doesn't happen instantly and we need to be just a little patient lol.
