Following Potential 2025 Draftees

The team is like 10% complete, I really hate drafting for need. Just draft the guy we think is best, regardless of player type. Talent of any kind is the biggest need. Jazz need pretty much everything anyways so it's no big deal.
This
Jazz need perimeter defenders and paint defenders and 3 point snipers and ball distributors and hustle players and tenacious players and isolation off the dribble scorers and etc etc etc.

The jazz are tanking.

After the top 7-8 I think it's a crapshoot. There are going to be "surprising" names that end up in the lottery by the end of the year. Guys like Wolf, Fleming, Bryant....I could all see them being lotto picks if their play keeps up.

Critical that we get one of the lotto spots.

IDK if VJ is in that top 8 anymore either, so might be more like the top 6-7.

I think VJ will stay in top 8 just based on his athleticism, stocks, etc....there's simply not enough good players to knock him out IMO. Not totally unrealistic that he falls though. Demin is the one who I think could really drop. His play against non high-major competition is alarmingly bad.

I think this draft has a really good top 3, better than most years certainly. Besides that it's not that great and does not come close to living up to "greatest draft ever".

I think Demin would go above VJ at this point.

I think Tre Johnson gives it a very solid top 4 -- Flagg, Harper, Jakucionis, Johnson. They all have pretty clear All Star potential. Bailey and Fears could make it a very solid top 6. We just need more sample.

Jazz should be able to get a consequential player with the Twolves pick even if it ends up in the low 20s. Guys like Wolf, Toppin, Bryant, Zikarsky, or Queen and McNeely (if they're in our range) are all worthwhile, imo. I'd say Essengue too, I'm just getting a bit tired of super skinny guys after this Cody Williams experience.

I'd also be willing to see if Murray-Boyles can adapt his game to the NBA. He's the kind of versatile, two-way player with some size and polish that the Jazz could use if he can expand his game to the perimeter.

Traore plays on the worst coached team of scrubs, it's so hard to watch and evaluate. He obviously needs to shoot better, but the fact that he is averaging the amount of assists he gets playing with who he does is kind of incredible. I think his man defense is passable, but his team defense is about as bad as it gets, but again I'm not sure what he is being coached to do. Can Euroleague guys switch teams mid season? I would love to see him play on a competent team.

Demin is slumping but IMO he still looks like a lottery pick. If he grades out as such he should and will go pro.

And I still think Dylan Harper is a better prospect than Cooper Flagg. A little birdie told me the Jazz FO may agree.

Shooting 2/12 or 4/15 is a slump. Shooting 3/29 (his last 6 games) makes it look like he just can't shoot. There might be scenarios or spots on the floor where he can shoot with his feet set. Maybe the problem is that he's always in motion. At the same time, a lot of his appeal is supposed to be his ability to play off the dribble.
