2024-2025 Tank Race

Hendricks was shooting 22/25 splits in those 3 games...

Maybe he would have improved, and defensively he looked the part, but IDK how much he would have helped wins. He still looked like a severely limited offensive player.
I think that could be excused as early season basketball. the rust from the off-season definitely didn't help especially going into sophmore year

So what are you basing him being improved on exactly? He looked extremely bad offensively in SL as well.

Sure all those things probably pointed to him being a good defender this season, but I saw no signs of him improving offensively.
His form on his shot looked better to me.
He also just seemed like he knew the offense better. Was in better positions on offense.

You would be ok if your least favorite team who is already really good added the number one pick to their roster the next year? What if the Jazz are good and our main competition gets the number one pick and we get pick 30?

Those scenarios might not be as bad as having teams sit healthy players, but I guarantee fans would complain very loudly.
Yes I would. I don't think I would hate it any more than watching a bunch of games with teams trying to lose. The whole tank thing is rather despicable for the integrity of a sport I've loved for more than 60 years. I know that teams that are down look to the draft to make them better. Especially small market teams. A move like this won't totally eliminate tanking, just make it far less attractive. Tanking is morally wrong as far as I'm concerned and I'm ashamed that the Jazz are the laughing stock of the league. If a team is down they will still be guaranteed a low draft pick, just they won't be guaranteed the top pick in the draft. I feel something needs to be done so that so many teams like we have this year won't see it as that advantageous and will attempt other means to improve. After all, the lottery was started to attempt to discourage teams from tanking.

Apples and oranges. Hendricks’ job is to be a long, athletic garbage man that can shoot 3s and nothing more. You don’t have to have incredible offensive feel for the game to can open shots, sit in the dunkers spot, rebound, and block shots.
True, but Hendricks wasnt really showing a great 3pt shot and his offensive feel has shown to be pretty mediocre.

I dont want to be negative on him with the injury, because it feels like piling on, but Im not super hopeful for him being anything more than a defensive presence at this point.

Pelicans vs Hornets. No bad outcome
And I think we got the best outcome as I think the pelicans will end up with more wins than the hornets by years end.
Last night was a pretty good night for the tank.

Well I (and many of us) have been pleasantly wrong. I didn't think the jazz could tank this will without trading of vets/good players.

They are doing a crazy good tank with this decent roster.

If they can keep it up without making any trades and get a stud in the draft then next year could feature many many wins.

I mean, they effectively have traded a bunch of vets by just not playing them for long stretches. I'd expect some of them to get moved, can't imagine Collins/Clarkson/sexton are happy.
