Eh, for me the thing I want most is Cooper Flagg. Jazz losses is the best way to increase the likelihood of the thing I want most.

Like I would rather have Cooper and the Minnesota pick be late 20's than not have Cooper and the minny pick be #10

That's why I'm conflicted

Ehhhhhhh, we should still want the loss IMO. Unless the Spurs actually do the Fox deal or the Warriors change their tune about building their team, I dont see the Wolves missing the play in and I also dont see them getting into the top 6.

The win wouldnt really affect the chances at getting Flagg IMO. The Jazz should safely finish in the bottom 3. It's more about protecting against falling out of the top 5 with bad draws.

The Jazz’s floor can get no higher than 6. Nobody is catching The Wiz.

Put another way, the odds that the Jazz cost themselves the worst record in the league by beating the Timberwolves is lower than the odds that the Jazz drop the Timberwolves’ seeding (probably one spot per victory over them).
 
We need Dallas and Phoenix to get rolling and pass up the Twolves. That puts them 9th in the West. It's fine with me if the Jazz win this one. We have a 2-win cushion with the Pels right now, and Zion is playing some games.

There is just no way to know. One win could be what makes us not get Cooper. I would rather not **** around and find out.

It’s all about collecting lottery balls- we get a lot more chances added to our total if we get the additional chances of the wolves entering the lottery vs none at all with them out. We should pin as many losses on them that we can.

Oh I agree we want the wolves to lose. But I also want the number pick and jazz losses give us the best chance at that.
Hence the conflicted feelings.

Thats my point though, no conflict, just a basic truth that the best chance of getting the first pick is flat in our likely finish scenarios, the only potential downside is our floor. Our ceiling is 100% better served by the TimberPups in the lottery.
 
The faster we got a 4-5 win pillow from bottom 3, the better for us. Anyway, seems that Minny play better than i thought the were. Our Minny pick will be a 20...

Why don't you see them getting top 6? They're #7 and one game back of both old LA teams. Don't want it obviously but I'd be surprised if they finish as a playin team at this point, they have been playing a lot better recently

I think we have a more clear figure after the trade deadline. If SA got Fox, GSW, Lavine and the Lakers a big to play with AD the competition will be tough to sneak into the PO. If not, i also think that Minny may be in the PO. I was wrong thinking that they may be implode and miss all. They are really solid right now. Their win tonight against a good Suns team was impressive.
 
Count me in the WIN column. The Jazz can help the Kings, Spurs, Suns, Mavs, etc more by beating the wolves and losing to everyone else

If the wolves miss the playoffs they will have internal stress from Edwards.

If the wolves pick ended top 3, our franchise would turn around because we would have 2 x top 6 picks. If it didn't, we would still have 2 picks in the lottery in a strong draft.
