I can’t afford this Trump economy

What do poor people, the vast majority of the population, do when they can’t afford eat?
Vote out the Democrats who did that to them.

As mentioned above: wages for January were up 4%, which outpaces inflation meaning people are once again getting richer. Despite the current price shock on one thing, the Trump economy is moving in the right direction for the people. Despite the cost increase in one item, people are more able to afford to eat, and more able to afford gas for their car too. There is a reason Trump's approval rating keeps rising.

I do not admire how your brain works. You have to think of this as a system buddy. I know you want it to be simple to understand. But our economy is global and complex. Trump applying pressure with PERCEIVED leverage is not a sure thing. AT ALL. So many variables to consider there’s no way to know how this ends, most likely a complete mess.

Ok, wages for January still fall under the previous admins policies. I got 3 promotions and 4 COL raises during Biden’s term. Biden’s economy was good for me, my family and my community. Things were really humming. We are now on a hiring freeze for the YEAR! Economic uncertainty tightens the belts.

Prices are rising! All the ones Trump ran on reigning in. He only gets so much time before his base starts feeling the squeeze. Like they told us, they have the guns! You start taking their homes and starving them they will come for those responsible and most of us will stand with them. We’ll see if the military will protect Trump.

Good luck with this, federal massive layoffs, federal funding shutdown, and all the crises’ influencing it all with no predictable outcome and all impacting the working poor.

You claim to understand this, but then repeatedly go to anecdotal examples of single items in local scopes. I'm happy you did well in the past few years, but that again is an anecdotal example.

When I view the state of broad, complex systems, I don't look to anecdotes. I choose metrics that speak to the scope I'm talking about. Inflation is rising slower than wages. Broadly speaking, the prices of the things we buy are rising slower than the amount of income we are earning to pay for those things. That means people can buy more than they could in year's past, and their approval of that state of things is being reflected in the job approval ratings for our current President.

Your side screwed the pooch and were voted out of power for their abject failure. It is too early to declare victory, but so far I am liking what the new cooks are preparing in the kitchen. We'll see how it comes out.

Good post. But here is the problem with the cult. They will believe whatever Trump tells them, period. So the deeper things go into the sewer the more he will prattle on about how this is all Biden's fault, and his DEI policies, and we are seeing the result of liberal leadership so they need to turn on the liberals and eradicate them. So they will swallow it all, hook, line, and sinker, and they will turn on the liberals for ****ing up the economy so bad that even the Holy of Holies, Trump the Demigod can't even fix it. That's how this will play out. And the kicker is, it's already playing out that way.

Ok, I’ll slow down.

My anecdote speaks to support for claim of rising incomes. I saw the income rise you’re talking about. The game has completely changed tho. What once was is not as it is now. MAGA has gambled our future on Elon Musk. The dudes kid wiped boogers on the resolute desk in front of the rapist. I’m baffled by your confidence in a guy that latched his wagon to you weeks before the election. You guys are winging it. Wild!

Prices are already rising, eggs will go up more. Add the brunt of pain caused by tariffs and you got yourself a very expensive mess on your hands.

You voted for this. The rapist has told you there will be pain. You will feel the pain, let’s see how much you can take.

Huh. Will you look at that.

Many commonly purchased goods and services got more expensive in January, driving inflation in the wrong direction and to its highest rate since June of last year.

Yes. Inflation is up 3%, but when paired with the wage numbers released a few days ago showing that wages are up 4%, it means Americans have more money in their pockets. That is a far cry from the 9% inflation under Biden, with stagnant wages.

I could really use some dog bites and cheap groceries right now. I just can’t afford this Trump *** clown and his cult following anymore. I get it I get it gulf of America is funny. But my wallet was much better off a few months ago than now. Now consumers are paying out of their asses for groceries. Real Americans just can’t afford Trump.
Well trump is an idiot so........

The official Democrat position now seems to be that they are in favor of waste, fraud and abuse, endless war, killing babies and child mutilation. Does that about sum it up?

If Trump is an idiot, what does that make his followers?
Old white men who just want things to go back to the way they were when they felt important.

Sorry I've had to eat lunch with a handful of 60+ white dudes who are over the moon about what Trump is up to this whole week. As I've mentioned before, jazzfanz is the place where I talk about politics, work is NOT. I just keep my head down and eat my sandwich.

Except, they don’t want the 1950s or 1850s lifestyle that predates cell phone porn, air conditioning, monster trucks, TVs with endless channels and streaming, and huge homes. The 1950s lifestyle is still available! It’s just that most here would hate it.

They want the social order of the 1950s. Which… just isn’t possible anymore. And honestly, we need to move on from that.

Yes but if we could lift the economic structure from the 50's and drop it into now it would solve a ****-ton of our problems. The higher tax rates would shore up our social programs, social security would be very well-funded. We could chip away at the national debt. Let's take that part and leave the ****** social parts behind.
