This is supposed to be mildly entertaining. Most **** has already been done and we’ve seen tbe replay a thousand times over the decades. I’m not sure what you are expecting. Do you want these dudes to dunk over the Monstars?

dunk contest is so **** now it was way better in the 80s through to early 2000s
Go rewatch some of those. They aren't as good as you remember. The problem is with dunking the first time you see a specific kind of move it's the wow factor because of the novelty. Then you see a hundred more people do the same move, and doing a lot of them in games, and they lose their shine. So now the dunkers have to always keep coming up with novel and new ways to dunk, and thanks to the limitations of the human body there are only so many ways to do that. So then they turn to gimmickery to make it feel fresh and new. The Superman dunk was technically not even a dunk. He didn't touch the rim. Raising the backboard, using 2 backboards, jumping over things, pretty much everything you can think to jump over has already been done. Multiple people have jumped over cars already. So the contest lost it's edge, the best players didn't want to get injured or it became de rigeur which rapidly lead to blase. So now you get no-name and new players dunking instead which is definitely less fun to watch. That particular activity was simply destined to become boring. There is only so far it can go. And we have already reached the end. The "Superman" dunk was the beginning of the end and we are now in a position where it might as well be billed as the "rising stars dunk contest" because it's simply become boring and meaningless.

Really so has the entire all-star weekend. It's way past it's shelf-life. Players don't even play for pride anymore, just to run up the score. The reason the rising stars game will become the centerpiece as far a real basketball fans are concerned is that they will still play for the pride of the win. No one else does. It's just rich spoiled entitled assholes patting each other on the back.

So rookies are now in the all star game? That is incredibly lame, but made possible by the fact that the players dgaf about all star weekend. One of the most disappointing things about the NBA is that the players/teams transparently do not care about the fans.

Hype hype hype!!
Is there ANYTHING better than the best of the world clashing for honor, just exchanging ankle breakers, poster dunks and some fisticuffs. The losers will be laughed out of the arena and the winners get to tattoo a "loser" on their forehead, WOOOO!!!

Oh wait, wrong thread.

I'm bored already
