The *OFFICIAL* Russia Is About To Invade Ukraine Thread

The funny thing is the only things you post are supportive of the Trump moves. Until someone challenges it and you post something accusatory followed by some version of "no, I don't like Trump". Until your next post tacitly approving of the regime and what they are doing, until you are challenged, and round and round we go. I posted several things Trump was doing asking for your take on it. Long before whatever "question" it is that Thriller and I haven't answered (I searched, never found an outstanding question). But you decided to just ignore those instead of giving up your position of being able to waffle whichever direction you feel you need to. But yeah, you don't like Trump and don't agree with him. Ok sure. Whatever.
The question is why can’t you say anything positive about this administration? It’s quite sad that all you do is negative all the time. Fish and Thriller likes yours posts as well. I haven’t heard them about how their 401k is doing…it’s strange after every month during Bidens administration they kept us updated on their retirement success. In 4 short weeks that is all but gone and everything is negative.

You want to rip the right all the time about everything they do yet you and the far left do it as well. You voted for someone who wanted to limit speech. I’m completely against this. From any side. But you are for it when it comes to your side. Just like expanding the courts. It’s only good if the far left does it because they are moral and clean. If Trump was doing it right now you would be crying “constitutional crisis”. Trump is a Nazi.

Again, keep going against the wants of the people, keep losing support and keep losing elections.

Easy, against this. Not hard to do. Will not defend it all.
Now that I answered your questions…

Is Biden a Nazi because his administration worked with Social Media to censor information?

I mean your own words is that what’s Nazi’s do

All Nazis eat dinner but not everyone who eats dinner is a Nazi. It takes more than one characteristic to be classified as a Nazi.

I'm not saying Trump is a Nazi but he shares a lot more Nazi characteristics than Biden or Harris.

New World Order? Two Strongmen, dividing spoils. Trump the traitor.

And this really seems more like it….Can easily see Trump behind something like this. Carve up Ukraine…divide the spoils.

“Head of Department of International Politics at City, University of London, Professor Inderjeet Parmar, believes the meeting between US and Russia officials shows "where the power lies" as the countries look to strike a deal which benefits them economically.

He told The Mirror: "(Given) that Ukraine, NATO and the EU has been excluded from the US-Russia meeting in Riyadh indicates where power lies. President Trump is after material gains for the US – especially Ukraine’s mineral resources such as uranium, lithium, titanium, and rare earth deposits. Currently, China dominates supply chains of rare earth metals -used in military technologies for example. China is the US’ ultimate target, the global context of the talks with Russia.

"Trump says he wants at least $500 billion worth of Ukraine’s rare earth deposits, around half of which actually lie in territories currently occupied by Russia. In return, Trump offers Ukraine security. Hence, the talks with Russia, to try and do a ‘deal’.

However, this deal is likely to either exclude or subordinate Europeans’ interests in the same minerals. As the EU foreign policy head, Kaja Kallas, noted recently, the EU has poured large amounts of aid into Ukraine and does not want to see Russia taking Ukrainian territories, the US securing natural resources, and Europe paying the bill.

Given what we know about the Trump administration’s material goals – hence desire to grab Greenland, Panama, Canada, etc – and Trump’s deal-maker personality – the war in Ukraine has little to do with defending democracy or sovereignty: it is a struggle for resources worth hundreds of billions of dollars, if not more. Trump also wants Ukraine to buy more US liquid natural gas."

The professor believes while "high level teams" are appointed to discuss the path to ending the conflict it leaves Ukraine on the "surgeon's operating table" as they wait to discover their fate.

Mr Indeerjet added: "Ukraine increasingly resembles a body on the US, EU and Russian surgeon’s operating table – ready to be carved up, much as colonial terriorties were carved up by the European empires in the 19th and early twentieth centruries. The biggest loser from the process is likely to be Ukraine and its war-weary people."

Go ahead and ban me, but I need to say it: it's such a shame Trump and his posse is alive. These ****ers are taking world to a some kind of trade war probably, and are now brown licking one of the worst people in the planet in Putin. They don't deserve their lives ffs.

Slava Ukraini and now slap the ban if you want. I'm tired to be PC, why should I. As a Finnish person I guess I have to start preparing for war if Ukraine will be forced for peace under unfait terms, Russia will get to keep the stolen land of Ukraine ... It only encourages them to try test other areas as well. Can't trust in NATO at all. Europe should have done much more for their own defense (Finland actually has been doing in the frame we can as a small nation, bc we have to live next to Russia). Now we're in between of a rock and a hard place with Europe, while one fascist is in power in Russia and the other fascist as the leader of the driving force of NATO says **** like this.

Trump lives in Russian disinformation by choice. Loves him some Rare Earth riches…

This is the New World Order the Right has been warning us about for years now. Turns out it was their Order all along. It’s a Strongman world now, and two of those anti-democracy authoritarians are drooling over Ukraine. The fact that it represents a betrayal of what we have long stood for, that’s just too bad. Trump and Putin are two of a kind.

Zelenskyy: Trump 'lives in Russian disinformation space'

Responding to inaccurate comments from the US President that his approval rating was only 4%, President Zelenskyy said that "unfortunately, President Trump, who we have great respect for as leader of the American people ... lives in this disinformation space."

His claim comes directly from Russian propaganda, Zelenskyy added. The Ukrainian leader's approval rating has never dipped below 50% and has at times been as high as 70%.

A phone poll of 1,000 Ukrainians carried out by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, published on Wednesday, found that 57% of people approved of how Zelenskyy was executing his position.

The Ukrainian president added that he wouldn't "sell" Ukraine to the US, referring to a proposed deal from Trump that would see Kyiv paid back aid from Washington with rare earth minerals

"I am defending Ukraine, I cannot sell our country. That's all," he said, adding that the Trump administration was not being "serious" about the deal.

Where this seems to be headed makes me sick to my stomach.
I believe it should make any American sick to their stomachs. It’s a stunning stab in the back to a people who have fought so hard and valiantly to save their nation from one of the greatest murderous butchers of modern times. And now Trump wants to align us with the Russian butcher, in a world divided among Strongmen.

It’s a stunning betrayal of our values. I’ve long known my youthful innocence, in believing we were the ones wearing the white hats, was as naive as it gets. But, seeing us transform consciously into the “Bad Guys in black hats”, and millions of Americans are fine with that transformation, with Trump and Putin getting their wish, is nauseating. Weakening America? That was Trump’s job from the start….

transform consciously into the “Bad Guys in black hats”, and millions of Americans are fine with that transformation...
Whatever you need to tell yourself to justify your hatred of the United States.

Everyone whining in this thread is living in unreality. People dying in a war over some fields in the butt end of nowhere isn’t a thing we should cheer. They are dead. Pointing the finger doesn’t make them any less dead. You lot are wanting more people to be made dead, more Ukrainians dead, more Russians dead, more people dead, and over what? The evil Russia invaded their neighbor and so they must war until the Ukrainians and Russians are all dead. Is that what you want? It certainly seems so.

russia-ukraine-war-14200.jpg

Russia has already been devastated, and I won’t argue that they didn’t deserve it. They were the aggressor. Hundreds of thousands of Russians are dead. Hundreds of thousands more are crippled for life, and millions of the most capable Russians fled Russia to avoid being swept up for cannon fodder. Russia was in population collapse before, but now they are a corpse. They keep fighting because Putin tells them to.

1m3010jk_putin-zelensky-ndtv_625x300_18_February_25.jpg

Putin is in real danger of having his head put on a stick and everything stolen from him. As long as there is a war, he’s safe. That paranoid little man is continuing the war to save himself even if it means burning his country to the ground. If he told his troops to retreat back to the 2014 borders in admission Russia was too weak to take Ukraine and all of this was for nothing, he’d be dead before the end of the week.

Zelensky has to fight. His nation is fighting for its life. As he said in the early days of the war, he doesn’t need a ride out of Ukraine. He needs bullets. He too cannot stop fighting, or his people will rip him apart for being a Russian collaborator, and all of the dying was for nothing.

Ending the war requires an understanding of what each man needs, not what is moral, or just, or what is good for their respective countries. What does Putin need, and what does Zelensky need?

Putin
needs to be able to present himself to the Russian people as the winner.

Zelensky needs to be able to present himself to the Ukrainian people as someone who fought until the barrel of a gun was put against the head of Ukraine, and stopping the fight was the only way to save Ukraine. The fight saved Ukraine and now the peace saves Ukraine.

russia-ukraine-war-05533.jpg

You may hate that we are moving in the direction of painting Putin as winning, and in the direction of putting a gun to the head of Ukraine. I don’t like it either, but I understand that it is for show. It is performative. There is no point in continuing this war even one more day. Russia can’t take Ukraine, and Ukraine can’t take back all lands making up their 2014 country. The only way to stop the killing is to give each man what he needs to stop, and that is what we are doing. We are being the adults in the room.

Sardines answered this well, and this is also something you should already know, come on. You are saying that Biden wanting (not forcing, not coercing, not passing laws or signing executive orders, but rather requesting, keep that in mind) that Social Media sites (also note, NOT true media, as in THE PRESS, but rather a cesspool of billionaires harvesting and selling your data and using your data to manipulate you in their platforms, which they have STRIGHT UP ADMITTED TO, again NOT media at all) police what is posted to ensure posts are factually correct and minimize the spreading of disinformation, something true media already has a charter to at least attempt to do, and protect our kids especially from harmful information, again something THE PRESS already has a mandate to do, hence why they do not print articles or share videos with sensitive information directly, but you are saying that is EXACTLY EQUIVALENT to Trump denouncing the media at every turn, demanding that 60 minutes go to jail for reporting the truth, and formally blocking the AP from the white house because they use international naming conventions rather than Trump's delusional renaming of a meaningless piece of arbitrary geography, you think these make Biden and Trump exactly equivalent to each other? Man you are brainwashed.

By the way, here is one example of Trump going after Facebook and tanking Meta's stock. No wonder they fell in line with his propaganda machine. Can you show me an equivalent report of Biden doing this much damage to force Facebook to fall in line with his agenda? Keep in mind, Biden wanted truthful reporting, fact checking, and protection for kids. Trump wanted positive messages about Trump, and free use of facebook as part of the propaganda machine. Those are qualitatively objectively morally opposing goals. I can guess which you think has the moral high ground in this, and that is just pathetic.

And to be fair, here is a claim by the Heritage Foundation, the wonderful thinktank responsible for dismantling our government that is happening right now. By the way, no other outlet is reporting this, other than reporting what Zuck said during his congressional hearing, presenting no evidence. OH NO IT IS A CONSPIRACY!!1!

So let's take that at face value, and say sure, Biden pressured facebook secretly behind the scenes. Does that make them equivalent entirely then? So beyond a single incident of behind the scenes pressuring what else has Biden done to earn the moniker of Nazi?

As far as any good the current administration has done, I have noted in another thread I think one positive thing they did, which had to do with questioning some spending, which we have needed to do for decades by the way. But beyond that they have been literally nothing but destructive, and the methods they are using to cut spending are full-on dishonest, lying to achieve their ends, and focused more on protecting the interests of billionaires than actually cutting any meaningful spending. It has been shown that all the "work" they are doing will not make the tiniest dent in the deficit, and actually shown by a republican that all they have cut barely amounts to maybe a single week of deficit spending, and yet disrupted thousands of lives of hard-working Americans. So, no, I am seeing very little positive coming from this administration. I do not view attempting to rewrite the constitution by fiat a positive move. Trump has already violated his oath of office a half dozen times in a single month of his presidency.

So, please share, what do you see that this administration is doing that is positive? Can you give us a list and we can add our 2 cents as to whether we think it is a positive move or not? Was destroying the most vetted and cleanest operating segment of the government providing foreign aid to countries in need a good move, the one that is highly likely to end in the deaths of thousands? Was putting thousands of federal employees out of work to free up literal pennies a good move? The next question would be, good for whom? Decidedly not for the thousands of people whose lives have been torn apart with the stroke of a pen, but maybe great for the billionaires looking for yet another handout? So show us your list, give us your top 10 fantastic things Trump has done, tell us why it is a great thing, and let us add our 2 cents. Let's have that conversation.

Members of either of our major parties are capable of stupid positions and decisions.
I think #4 on this list describes the Musk/Trump approach to cleaning house:

Principle 1: Ideology produces disagreement, but stupidity produces befuddlement. This week, people in institutions across America spent a couple of days trying to figure out what the hell was going on. This is what happens when a government freezes roughly $3 trillion in spending with a two-page memo that reads like it was written by an intern. When stupidity is in control, the literature professor Patrick Moreau argues, words become unscrewed “from their relation to reality.”

Principle 2: Stupidity often inheres in organizations, not individuals. When you create an organization in which one man has all the power and everybody else has to flatter his preconceptions, then stupidity will surely result. As the German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer put it: “This is virtually a sociological-psychological law. The power of the one needs the stupidity of the other.”

Principle 3: People who behave stupidly are more dangerous than people who behave maliciously. Evil people at least have some accurate sense of their own self-interest, which might restrain them. Stupidity dares greatly! Stupidity already has all the answers!

Principle 4: People who behave stupidly are unaware of the stupidity of their actions. You may have heard of the Dunning-Kruger effect, which is that incompetent people don’t have the skills to recognize their own incompetence. Let’s introduce the Hegseth-Gabbard corollary: The Trump administration is attempting to remove civil servants who may or may not be progressive but who have tremendous knowledge in their field of expertise and hire MAGA loyalists who often lack domain knowledge or expertise. The results may not be what the MAGA folks hoped for.

Principle 5: Stupidity is nearly impossible to oppose. Bonhoeffer notes, “Against stupidity we are defenseless.” Because stupid actions do not make sense, they invariably come as a surprise. Reasonable arguments fall on deaf ears. Counter-evidence is brushed aside. Facts are deemed irrelevant. Bonhoeffer continues, “In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self-satisfied and, being easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack.”

Principle 6: The opposite of stupidity is not intelligence, it’s rationality. The psychologist Keith Stanovich defines rationality as the capacity to make decisions that help people achieve their objectives. People in the grip of the populist mind-set tend to be contemptuous of experience, prudence and expertise, helpful components of rationality. It turns out that this can make some populists willing to believe anything — conspiracy theories, folk tales and internet legends; that vaccines are harmful to children. They don’t live within a structured body of thought but within a rave party chaos of prejudices.

As time has gone by, I’ve developed more and more sympathy for the goals the populists are trying to achieve. America’s leadership class has spent the last few generations excluding, ignoring, rejecting and insulting a large swath of this country. It’s terrible to be assaulted in this way. It’s worse when you finally seize power and start assaulting yourself — and everyone around you. In fact, it’s stupid.

Trump calls Zelenskyy a 'dictator without elections'

We have more detail on Donald Trump’s Truth Social post:

Trump called Zelenskyy a “dictator without elections” after the Ukrainian leader earlier on Wednesday accused Trump of being trapped in a “disinformation bubble.”

Zelenskyy admits that half of the money we sent him is “MISSING.” He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden “like a fiddle.” A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left. In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only “TRUMP,” and the Trump Administration, can do. Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy probably wants to keep the “gravy train” going. I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues…..

Orange clown is showing his true colors ( which some of us knew and warned about long ago, but now it is wide open for all to see that he is nothing more but Putin's bitch).... Reagan is rolling in his grave.
