The *OFFICIAL* Russia Is About To Invade Ukraine Thread

Playing into Putin’s hands, which after all….Two Strongmen, the way the world should be, controlled by Strongmen….This is the Trump view of the planet, after all. Our Trump apologists are no doubt Putin apologists now as well! Any Republicans loyal to the United States? Anyone? Boy, we told you, lol. We told you there would come a day you would find yourself stuck between a rock and a real hard place. Now, here you are, MAGA and Trump apologists. Siding with Putin and Trump, against the free world!! You must all be so proud. If not wondering “what the eff do we do now? Maybe we should have stood up to him years ago”.

President Trump says he wants a quick cease-fire in Ukraine. But President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia appears to be in no rush, and the blowup on Friday between Mr. Trump and Ukraine’s president may give Russia’s leader the kind of ammunition he needs to prolong the fight.

With the American alliance with Ukraine suffering a dramatic, public rupture, Mr. Putin now seems even more likely to hold out for a deal on his terms — and he could even be tempted to expand his push on the battlefield.

The extraordinary scene in Washington — in which Mr. Trump lambasted President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine — was broadcast as the top story on state television in Russia on Saturday morning. It played into three years of Kremlin propaganda casting Mr. Zelensky as a foolhardy ruler who would sooner or later exhaust the patience of his Western backers.

For the Kremlin, perhaps the most important message came in later remarks by Mr. Trump, who suggested that if Ukraine didn’t agree to a “cease-fire now,” the war-torn country would have to “fight it out” without American help.

That could set up an outcome that Mr. Putin has long sought, at the cost of tens of thousands of Russian lives: a dominant position over Ukraine and wide-ranging concessions from the West.

In fact, Mr. Trump’s professed attempts to end the war quickly could intensify and prolong it, experts warned. If the United States is really ready to abandon Ukraine, Mr. Putin could try to seize more Ukrainian territory and end up with more leverage if and when peace talks ultimately take place.

“Russia will be willing to keep fighting for longer, and more bitterly,” said Konstantin Remchukov, a Moscow newspaper editor with Kremlin ties, describing the consequences of Mr. Trump’s public break with Mr. Zelensky. “If Zelensky says the Ukrainian people are ready to keep on fighting, Moscow will say: ‘Sure, let’s keep fighting.’”

If Friday’s angry encounter in Washington leads to a further drop in U.S. military support for Ukraine, Mr. Remchukov said in a phone interview, the consequences could be profound, possibly even encouraging Mr. Putin to return to the broader territorial aims he pursued when he began his invasion in 2022.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Moscow decided to go further, to Odesa or Mykolaiv,” Mr. Remchukov said, referring to key Black Sea ports that remain under Ukrainian control. “It could change the strategic direction of the offensive.”

Despite the striking alignment that has emerged between Mr. Trump and Mr. Putin in recent weeks, many analysts have spotted a key difference in their views. While the American president says he wants to “stop the death” in Ukraine as soon as possible, the Russian leader says he wants to resolve the “root causes” of the war first.

For Mr. Putin, that terminology is code for his desire for a wider deal that would prevent Ukraine from joining NATO, limiting the size of its military and granting Russian influence over its domestic politics — along with a broader pullback of the NATO alliance across Eastern and Central Europe.

Let’s hear it MAGA. Tell us how great it is to align with one of the lifetime members of the ole Axis of Evil itself! Go ahead, assume the pretzel position and justify this. Oh, I know, just stop the killing! Ceasefire! Trump trusts Putin, so hard for MAGA to flush his love of Putin down the drain, so we should trust Putin. But wait…Zelensky does not trust Putin. Solution: resign Zelenskyy! Resign! Hmm. Me thinks Trump is obeying Putin and not just agreeing with him….methinks this was done to help Putin.

This was the plan all along.
trump never wanted zelensky to sign an agreement. It's pretty obvious when you look at the deal itself and the way trump spoke about and to Zelensky throughout the process.

Absolutely, and Trump also revealed that he talked to Putin recently, something not known until he revealed that on Friday. Nobody can be blamed if they believe Trump and Putin have been a thing for a long time now. Seemed to be three audiences on Friday.

Domestic: “see how ungrateful Zelenskyy is, let’s dump him”.

Europe and the world: “guess what, we ain’t wearing the white hats anymore, see ya around”.

Putin: “I love you Vlad. I want to be just like you”!

Why the focus on Zelenskyy needing to make a deal? Seems to me like Putin should be the one pressured to make a deal, otherwise Europe and the United States should keep supplying Ukraine with weapons until Russia runs out of population to send into Ukraine. What would be wrong with that anyway? We can bleed our arch enemy Russia dry without a single American soldier shooting a shot.

Russia has everything to lose. Why isn’t Putin showing respect to European leaders and begging begging like a dog for relief?

The JF Trumpers are cooked. It really is fascinating and dangerous how easily they fall in line.

There's three options:
1. They've invested so much time to take that side that even if they see issues, bad issues even, they can't or won't take a step back, because it'd mean to lose their investment.
2. They're trolling and are super bored. You have to be super bored to do that.
3. Idk, maybe they're just not very bright minded.

I mean most of this **** wouldn't be acceptable from anyone. Heck, I've been stopping to vote my Finnish left wing candidates for so, so much less that I see in both republican or democratic politicians doing on the States, and either picked up another from same party or another.

This situation also portrays the terrible risks that such a strong two party culture poses: this is how bad it can get. It's about pick your poison and no other options. Well there are, but as everyone are afraid their votes would go "wasted", the independent or smaller parties in two party system won't ever get a breather.

“We tried! We tried to reason with him! We gave him all the chances for peace and he turned them all down. Putin had to invade, the EU and NATO forced them and before the US could stop him!”

Literally the US after Hitler invaded Poland.

They’re all reactionary. Everything the mainstream is for, they’re against. It’s why they’ve turned against vaccines in just a few years. They know deep down inside that Trump isn’t actually helping them out. But they won’t admit that he sucks. And he triggers the people they hate, so they love him. They’re definitely bored and the teevee president gives them entertainment

It’s all about entertainment, grievance, and fulfilling one’s identity as a victim for those on the American right.

“Putin is on the inside now”.

It appears that the U.S. no longer considers Russia a significant cyber threat, according to multiple new reports on a drastic policy reversal that has taken hold under the new Trump administration.

The cybersecurity outlet The Record originally reported that under Trump’s new Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, U.S. Cyber Command has been ordered to “stand down from all planning against Russia, including offensive digital actions.” The outlet cites three anonymous sources who are familiar with the matter. The order reportedly does not apply to the National Security Agency.

The policy shift represents a complete 180-degree turn from America’s posture over the past decade, which has consistently considered Russia one of the top cybersecurity threats. Credible reporting and government investigations have shown that Russia has hacked into U.S. systems countless times.

The Guardian has reported that a memo recently circulated to staff at America’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) established “new priorities” for the agency and, while mentioning the threat of digital incursions by China and other enemies, failed to mention Russia.

“Russia and China are our biggest adversaries. With all the cuts being made to different agencies, a lot of cyber security personnel have been fired. Our systems are not going to be protected and our adversaries know this,” a source, who was familiar with the internal memo, told The Guardian. “People are saying Russia is winning. Putin is on the inside now.”

Another anonymous source, who said that CISA staff had been “verbally informed that they were not to follow or report on Russian threats,” expressed concern for the shift: “There are thousands of US government employees and military working daily on the massive threat Russia poses as possibly the most significant nation state threat actor. Not to diminish the significance of China, Iran, or North Korea, but Russia is at least on par with China as the most significant cyber threat,” they said.

The Thriller is a standard democrat. His candidate campaigned with Liz Cheney. He wants war until they run out of people to die. Soldiers, civilians, men, women, children, Ukrainians, Russians, all go into the meat grinder until none are left. The Thriller is a standard democrat. What happened to your party?

That is HUGE!!!! WTF is this not front page news everywhere?!?!

Senator Chris Murphy killed the deal. He met with Zelensky 30 minutes before Zelensky went to the White House and got an assurance that Zelensky would refuse the deal. Then Senator Murphy posted his meddling on Twitter to make sure everyone could see what he'd done. To repeat, Senator Chris Murphy tweeted out that Zelensky would not sign the deal 30 minutes before Zelensky went to the White House!
