i know there are more options available right now, but IF the jazz dont make any move and wait and if we get into the situation where nobody particular stands out, why not getting tracy mcgrady for a cheap price? yes it is a gamble with his injury history and yes he has the curse but since it seems like everybody from the jazz is leaving and our talent level is lower than last season, why not bring t-mac? if he can be healthy, i think he still has the talent and i dont think he will be asking for a long year contract.. just an idea because i see alot of people on this board so negative about t-mac. what are your thoughts?

Loser, huh?

Jazz Championships = 0
Tracy McGrady = 0

Let it fly. I like McGrady. Sign him to a two-year (second year team option or just one year) deal and see what happens.

I would rather take a risk on Mcgrady rather than over pay for Matthews. I think the Jazz should make Portland eat that contract for a backup player. Who knows Mcgrady might surprise people and do very well here.

So take a flyer on a washed-up guy whose injuries have drastically reduced his effectiveness, and give up on a guy whose potential could be unlimited. I guess losers deserve losers.

I didn't get to see McGrady play with the Knicks so can anyone tell me if he can still play?

Yeah, I'd like to know too. Didn't hear a lot about him after the move.

Sounds like you like Matthews over reality.... Unlimited? Really? I guess we should chalk him up as MJ in the waiting.

I said "could be." The guy has a lot of drive and athletes like that are the ones that overachieve. Look at someone like Pete Rose. Sure they need to have some athletic ability, but it's not unusual to see guys with limited athletic ability but determination and intelligence achieve far above their peers with greater natural abilities. Think Larry Bird or Jeff Hornacek.

Totally down with the Jazz doing a two year deal with a team option with Tmac. If he sucks, you let him go after a year. Jazz need to make some moves and quick. All the FAs and RFAs are being gobbled up. Jazz will sign Fes and either sign Wes and nobody else or let him walk and sign Brewer and nobody else, unfortunately.

Sure Charlie Hustle was even better because he hustled, but there still was a lot of talent there. Wes Matthews is not overly athletic, not the greatest shooter, and not the greatest passer. I do think he will be a solid player. But shouldn't even be considered at this point because of the price. If we match which I unfortunately think we will then we will be worse off for it in the long run.

pass. i dont see him taking on a small role (unless MIA/LAL/SA) to play with us. plus, i'd rather see what CJ/GH can do....
