2024-2025 Tank Race

God, I hate all this tanking talk. Let's tank the *&^#@ out of the rest of this season, get a good draft pick, and get back to trying to win next year. I've a limited time left on this planet, and I'd like to spend it being excited about watching basketball.

Agree 100%... Unfortunately, the Jazz will most likely tank again next year. I wonder how much of this crap the decent vets are willing to tolerate.

Atlanta has an extremely good night by beating the Pacers and the Magic losing to the ****ing Bulls lol. Now in the 7/8 bracket which is where they need to stay.

My take is the Jazz aren't going to be held hostage by ‘decent vets’.

Pretty sure Ainge had a good talk to Lauri before he re-upped and laid out the 2-year tank plan for him to see.

‘Decent vets’ are under contract and it was pretty clear at the deadline that Ainge wouldn't give them up for a bag of peanuts.

Pretty clear Ainge doesn't clear how they feel neither.

We are getting in to high tank season. I think we see the bottom 7 teams take tanking to new levels. We are already seeing Toronto go all out. What's interesting is that there will be a ton of tank off games remaining. By my count there are 21 more games between the bottom 7 teams. That is a lot of games where nobody wants to win.

Toronto plays in over half of those games lol (11 to be precise)

The Lakers have definitely gotten sweet deals, and their success does benefit the league.

Still deeply don't believe the lottery is rigged. E&Y's revenue was 5x that of the NBA last year and their business is entirely built on trust and "ethics" (or their own corporate version). The NBA is entertainment and definitely is able to survive with gray area like the Donaughey scandal, but not the same for other industries. I get one owner doing sweetheart deals that benefits another team like the Lakers for a variety of reasons that somehow benefits them, but don't think you get 29 owners who see that vision. The Luka deal clearly upset many other owners.

I'd be interested in whether there's a shred of objectively credible evidence about the diverse NBA conspiracy theories floating around out there. Conspiracies do exist, but not under every rock and in every cranny as conspiracy theorists would have us believe. Just because things happen we don't like, it doesn't mean there's a conspiracy behind it.

Sounds like you're trying to hide something.
