Its not a fait point at all.Didn't have to think for more than a second.
Giannis.
He might be the only one though. I can't think of another so it's still a fair point.

If his point is simply that there are not many #1 options that are worse shooters than Banchero then its a correct point. There aren't. I could only think of 2 currently in the league. Its not a fait point at all.
Yeah he's definitely an anomaly. He's just a beast who can move guys out of his driving lane with his sheer strength, like a Shaq. Banchero’s nowhere near that level, obviously.Didn't have to think for more than a second.

Zion, Embiid, Giannis, Barnes, Davis, Sabonis, Sengun. If his point is simply that there are not many #1 options that are worse shooters than Banchero then its a correct point. There aren't. I could only think of 2 currently in the league.
I kinda thought we were more talking about star players. I dont really put sengun, sabonis, or barnes in the same category as the others. I mean if we are saying banchero is only as good as sabonis, barnes, or sengun then whatevs imo. I dont think of those guys as number 1 options I just think they are on teams that lack a number 1 option and so.... default.Zion, Embiid, Giannis, Barnes, Davis, Sabonis, Sengun.
And Banchero isnt a terrible shooter. He shot 34% last year and is shooting 31% this year. It's not like he's awful at shooting/a complete non-shooter.
The point is, the Magic's roster not being able to shoot 3's efficiently is a much bigger issue than your star scorer not being able to shoot 3's efficiently. And Banchero will likely get better at shooting as he ages.
I think they got a few guys back (or at least back in the groove) that they really need defensively since we saw them. Most important may be DFS (think he missed against us). Just uber smart and uber versatile defensively, and not a bad shooter, to boot. It's crazy they figured it out so fast. When we killed them before the all star break I thought they looked like the worst defensive team I'd ever seen.
Exactly why Randle is the perfect comparison for him. We ain't talking about him being so bad that he's gotta learn Chinese any time soon. But if he can't figure out how to shoot or set up his teammates with his drive, then his ceiling may be putting up empty stats on some bad teams for the rest of his career, which is upsetting given the kid is definitely talented. Just lacks the right skillet to quite put things together in today's game.I kinda thought we were more talking about star players. I thought this was more of a discussion like banchero is some bad *** star stud and then someone else was like except he cant shoot so he isn't really that great. If we are comparing him to those dudes then maybe he just aint that great regardless and is over rated.
Fwiw I think im probably higher on banchero than most and more on your side of the discussion (that he isn't over rated or at least not very much)
I would love to have him and think he would probably be the best player on the jazz right now. That is why I was comparing him to guys like giannis and zion. embiid is another though I probably trust embiid as a shooter more that banchero. Not zion or giannis though.
The Magic either have to stock the roster with shooting around Banchero/Wagner and give up the ideal of having your entire team being long/athletic defenders, or make a decision between Banchero/Wagner to add a 2nd star who can shoot so they can have a more balanced roster with their athletes and add some shooting.
Bradley Beal at his contract makes sense for no oneThey might actually be the one team that Bradley Beal makes sense on. It is criminal they didn't offer something for Sexton.
Jimmy Butler on Miami until very recently. The same Butler who took them to a couple of NBA Finals. He's in no position to blame on spacing when he himself is very much part of the problem. Just name me one no 1 option on other 29 teams who's a worse 3pt shooter than Banchero(30% on 5.7 attempts). Opponents basically are sagging off and daring him to shoot from deep at this point.
Lavine would have been incredible for Orlando, but they are an unserious team.
Holy **** that jokic triple double though.
31 points, 21 rebounds and 22 assists. Seriously wtf. Is that the greatest triple double of all time? (Maybe Wilt topped it but I bet no one else did.)
Kinda sorta- just remember how little Kessler helps the Jazz defensive numbers.Luka doncic is by far one of the worst defenders in the NBA all he has is offence
