Bernie’s Anti-oligarchy Tour/Anti-Trump Resistance

Great decision….

The Democratic Party is planning an extensive series of town halls in Republican-held districts in all 50 states to draw attention to the Republican leadership’s recent warning that G.O.P. lawmakers should avoid such open forums.

The initial wave of what Democrats are branding “People’s Town Halls” is planned to target nine House Republicans in battleground districts, from Arizona to Pennsylvania, who Democrats believe will be vulnerable in the 2026 midterm elections.

The incursions into Republican territory come as the Democratic Party tries to find its political footing after a turbulent first 50 days of President Trump’s second term, and as Republicans control every facet of the federal government — and are exercising their power aggressively.

Party officials said the first nine town halls were just the start, with the goal of eventually holding events across the country to highlight some of the less popular proposals pressed by the Trump administration and Republicans in Congress.

The effort seeks to capitalize on private advice this month from Representative Richard Hudson of North Carolina, the chair of the House Republican campaign arm, that G.O.P. lawmakers stop having in-person town halls after some devolved into shouting matches.

“If they won’t talk to their own voters, then Democrats will,” Ken Martin, the chair of the Democratic National Committee, said in a statement to The New York Times. “That’s why we’ll be hosting People’s Town Halls in all 50 states across the country, starting now with vulnerable G.O.P.-held target districts.”

Looks like there is no more "protection of complexion" at this point. They're randomly grabbing white people now. This is a new phase, ICE just wants to get the numbers up and don't care how they do it.

My wife is a Canadian citizen, has been living on a green card here since the 1970s, I think we're going to talk to an immigration lawyer about getting her citizenship here, and talk to Canadian immigration about if I can move up there.

I've never had a passport but I'm in the process of getting one for myself and my immediate family. I feel like there might actually come a moment when it is just time to leave as fast as possible.

Same. I have never left North America, I've been to Canadia and Mexico but that's it, and the last time was about 25 years ago, before 9/11 and the tightening of the borders.

I was in the Navy so I've been a few places overseas. Enough to know life exists outside of the USA. There are a few places I'd be happy to live.

My wife and I just submitted our renewals and I've actually had a few business acquaintances/friends ask me if we need help or offering help if we needed to get out. Maybe I'll have that chance to move back to Germany again sooner than I expected.

Good. This is what we’ve waited to see. Unlike MAGA, Democrats actually care about improving the lives of the majority of this country. Im old enough to remember what life was like before Obamacare. Anyone else remember when insurance companies could just not insure you because of pre-conditions? Good times good times.

Germany definitely has a stronger democracy, better health care system, and likely better economic prospects than America under this fascism. Have you seen your 401k lately? Trump has only been in office for 2 months

Living with an enemy Alien hey? Knowingly too by the sound of it. Is this what they mean by the enemy within?
