Trump Dictatorship and All Things Politics

I've lost over 100k in the last month from my share portfolio.
It is weird, but I'm noticing a run of luck happening to those who shelter behind block lists while making personal attacks targeting those they disagree with.

You are down 100k. Fish's wife had to go in for surgery. Log lost his job, lives on opiates for constant pain, and his wife had to get a job to keep heads above water. Gandalfe has a kid who is draining his retirement.

It is almost as if karma is a thing. Carry on.

And when they ignore the courts and publicly state that what the judges think don't matter?

You really want to side on activist judges trying to stop illegal gang members being deported? Please take that side. Please, Please take that side. You want to know why the left keeps losing? This right here.

If Trump is for deporting illegal gang members, then the left is against it.

If you also want to debate an Activist Judge > Supreme Court. Let’s do that.

Activist judges? lol. They're saying that judges have no authority to interfere with who Trump wants to deport (which is false). Trump is acting as judge, jury, and executioner. They're saying they don't need due process. Trump decides who's a criminal. He deports whoever he wants. Laws are irrelevant.

I thought you were capable of introspection given your previous comment. I appear to have been mistaken.

You are mistaken if you think Trump believes the courts don't have the authority to interfere. The Trump administration complied with the court order. That is why all the articles you link are very specific with the term "verbal order". The deportation flights has already left US territory, and the court order did not order them to be turned around. The judge during the hearing said something to that effect, but it is not what the judge verbally says that is binding. It is the court order that counts, and the court order in this case was complied with to the letter.

I don’t agree with this at all. At ALL.
Digital signatures are a normal and commonly used form of signing documents. Autopen or signing are normal.

Unfortunately you gotta ask yourself did the brain dead geriatric know what he was signing or was a corrupt cabal of bureaucrats
taking advantage of the demented, senile, crooked old bat? Who controlled the autopen because it wasn't Biden? Its obvious from his choice to step aside as the democrat presidential candidate as well.

This is a garbage comment.

What are you going to do baby peterzz? Take to the streets? Try to assassinate him? Or do nothing and just bitch more on JF?

I’m going to watch it get shot down in court, like a normal person.
Agreed.

Not a hell of a lot we can do. I'm just glad to hear some reason about some of this from Republican supporters. That's the only place this madness will end, when enough Republicans see the truth of it all and start to speak out. Baby steps.

Remember, baby steps may be small, but they can come in pretty damn quick succession.

God, Elon/DOGE is so ****ing stupid.
To be fair, mistakes like this aren't new. My dad had an inquiry when he started drawing social security years ago since another guy with his name from the same state (different city but not far away) had a death certificate on file with social security. We knew about this guy, my dad and family knew him but he wasn't a direct member of our family, related somewhere in some other way no doubt. It took them 2 months to clear it up and they had to postpone his date of officially starting to withdraw social security. None of these systems are perfect. Any guesses how many John Smiths in the state of Utah have died over the past 50 years? I imagine it's staggering. Plus the snopes article didn't definitively connect this to doge. Like I said, these things have happened now and then for decades.

However what's of greatest concern is the problems this will cause since they have 1) arbitrarily fired so many people from so many agencies so far and 2) what happens when they just start a campaign of blanket dismissal of recipients at some arbitrary cut-off point since they must all be dead, say they argue that no one over 90 could possible be legitimately withdrawing social security, so cut them all off. So with reduced staff to handle the complaints at that point, it's just more chaos.

Nah.

This will only really stop when Trump dies, but at that point, the whole MAGA/DOGE house of cards will collapse. Trump's handlers know it too, and that's exactly why they're trying to cause maximum damage right now, as quickly as possible. Most of it will get repaired eventually, but it's inevitable that something will remain if the cracks are deep enough. And that's the true goal.

MAGA isn't a political ideology, it's a pure personal cult. It will not – cannot – exist without a living, breathing Donald Trump. As I wrote earlier, that's the flipside of the coin for strongman cults. There's literally nobody who can "take the reins" after he's gone. It doesn't work like that.

This is surely unnecessary? Trump never had the right to erase anything that reflected DEI. If DEI means we must forget the Code Talkers, then there is something wrong with the plan to implement erasure of the idea of DEI itself.

Critics were outraged over the changes.

“Trump’s Pentagon is erasing Navajo Code Talkers — Indigenous warriors who helped win WWII — from military websites,” VoteVets, a veteran political advocacy group, said in a statement on X. “This isn’t about ‘efficiency.’ It’s about whitewashing history and erasing those who don’t fit his MAGA narrative.”

EJ Montini, a columnist for the Arizona Republic, writing in a state that borders large parts of the Diné reservation, argued that “every elected official in Arizona from every party should be pounding on the doors of the Defense Department to reverse the idiotic DEI overreach that is trying to erase the Code Talker legacy.”

“Who could possibly be pleased by an effort to erase the history of a group of native men who were vital to the success of every major Marine Corps operation in the Pacific Theater of World War II, particularly America's victory at Iwo Jima,” he asked.
