Following Potential 2025 Draftees

How Aday Mara didn’t see the floor more this year I’ll never understand.

1.6 BPG in 12.8 minutes and he’s got really nice touch around the restricted area.

Have to imagine he transfers out or tests the pro waters in some capacity.

I didnt get to watch a lot of byu this year and survived on box scores and highlights. In the past game I saw Demin take a lot of 3s late in the shot clock. If the offense broke down he ended up jacking up a lot of low percentage 3s.

He basically couldn't shoot all year. Like at all. From anywhere.
Suddenly in the tournament he can shoot a little bit.
His actual shooting form is pretty pure, his main issue is how he sets his feet (or doesn't.) You could generally see that in he often made shots where he was slightly rushed and not thinking too much- it was pure/pretty and swishes.

He's just going to get better. If we could possibly get him with our 2nd pick I'd be ecstatic as a long term prospect.

In the course of a regular game BYU doesn't often go late into a shot clock. The team doesn't often dawdle with the ball though and if the advantage isn't there, the ball gets kicked back out to Demin for the reset so if there IS a time clock crunch it is often going to be Demin looking for Saunders and if that's not there he's probably launching a 3. It would be nice if he would look to drive in more of those situations.

I mean he's Russian Jimmer in the tournament. . .
Funny thing is he was 3-10 and 2-6 last night but he has been such a bad shooter all season that those percentages seem pretty good lol.

He scores 11 points on poor shooting and gets the nickname of Russian jimmer (who dropped 34 points in the tournament against Gonzaga iirc)

On the other hand against VCU he airballed a wide open catch and shoot corner 3

Good review. It does explain a little of his lower percentage. His shot looks good. I think strength will help him a lot. He will be able to take contact, get to the line more with should improve his percentage.

Will be kind of wild if McNeeley goes lottery. Going to finish the season with awful shooting splits.
Big East can make some good players look worse than they are, but did not realize how low his efficiency was.....wondering if he could be a player that slips a bit. Still an intriguing player with age on his side.

I was really hoping to see Condon or Haugh pop in this tournament, but neither have looked that impressive to me.

Edgecombe just had an opportunity to drive by Knueppel with an open lane to the rim, and he didn't try it. He doesn't trust his handle, at least not in traffic.

Also, Edgecombe looks noticeably smaller than Proctor. Both are listed at 6'5".
