Definitely like him more than VJ&Ace in case we do end up falling to #5.
If that is the case then I will be pissed that we fell to 5 and super happy that we still got AceMy prediction is we pick 5th, Ace slides to us there, Jazz say that is who they wanted all along, and Jazzfanz has a meltdown.
Tre's lack of rim pressure and lack of FT's is just so alarming. Same goes for Ace, btw. He's a great jump shooter, but it is an incredibly tough living to be a scorer in the NBA strictly from pullup jump shots. Tre is also the "his team so bad" prospect this year, and honestly that has become the red flag excuse for me. Almost everyone plays in a crappy offense but for some reason 1-2 guys get all their flaws overlooked bc they happened to play in a bad offense. I would be more open to Tre if he was a better prospect outside of his prolific shooting, but he's a really poor prospect otherwise. Ace at least is an elite physical tools guy with defensive potential.
Give it a couple of months. People will be swooning for Tre and he will go 3rd.If that is the case then I will be pissed that we fell to 5 and super happy that we still got Ace
Except that the comparison makes no sense when you take time to think about how different the shooting profiles of Hawkins vs Johnson are. Also, while I believe in definitely believe in Tre's shot....shooting is not one of the things that is easily translatable to the NBA. I believe in his shooting because of the degree of difficult of his shots and the versatility of his jumper, but just knowing history we have to acknowledge that shooting does not always translate and is prone to variability. So when a player's case is heavily tied to his shooting, it means his case is heavily tied to something that is inherently difficult to predict. He's a much better prospect than Jordan Hawkins, but Hawkins would kind of be the cautionary tale here. If a guy's whole stock is shooting and it doesn't translate as you would expect, there's not much else there to carry his case.
Sergio de la Rea's production at ACB and Eurocup level is hard to ignore. Wayyyy more productive than Hugo and Sarr.
Cool. And I will be ecstatic that Ace fell to 5.Give it a couple of months. People will be swooning for Tre and he will go 3rd.

I think he's right there with Kasparas. He's either the value-pick version of Kas in this draft, or he's flatout better. He's got vision, advanced timing and great feel at 6'6". It's just that his minutes have been limited so the data samples are small. I'd be on board at #21 depending on how things shake out. Maybe it's possible to trade back a few spots and get him too.

Kas is elite because of his ability to hit step back/off the dribble 3. If he can hit it in the NBA it opens up all the other cool playmaking he can do.
I like De Larrea ok (I believe I was one of the first to bring him up in this thread), but Kas without the step back isn't quite as interesting.
I think Podz is a good medium outcome for Kas.Kas isn't going to create space on NBA defenders with his stepback like he did in college, imo, especially if he isn't a real threat to drive the ball. Kas will benefit from NBA pace and space, but his athleticism and ability to pressure the rim do look a bit limited. Kas might look a bit similar to Podziemski in the pros, imo.

Memphis draft picks is lottery protected and Ja twisted his ankle in the first play in game.
Grizzlies haven't beaten a Western Conference playoff team since January. If you were a Grizzlies fan would you want to tank the last play in game to keep the pick?
