Trump Dictatorship and All Things Politics

This will lead to the effective end of US food exports to the developed world.
As well it should. I've worked as a field service tech on equipment frequently used in meat plants. Some are pristine. Some are ... not. To be fair it is the USDA that is on the front lines enforcing standards in these plants, not the FDA.

Let me make sure this is clear:

1. The prison that these people are being sent to uses them for forced, unpaid labor.
2. The US is not paying to house these people.
3. I have seen reports (I will have to search for them again) that El Salvador, or the owners/operators of the prison, are actually paying the Trump administration.

We are selling people into slavery.

EDIT: Sorry, I misremembered. The US is actually paying El Salvador to house them. So, we're paying them to take slaves from us. I can't decide if that's better or worse.

Sweet deal for El Salvador tho! We set up our gulags in Nauru and PNG, it eventually led to a death in custody of an asylum seeker, there was no significant investigation into this mans death, held for years without charge, without committing a crime, in fact imprisoned for seeking his legal right to asylum. The Australian government was paying nearly 1 million dollars P/A per head to imprison these people who were overwhelmingly genuine refugees but we have them spend 3 to 5 years in gulags as punishment for coming here and then once admitted into the country they'd deny them the right to work.

I call meat pies rat coffins...

If we are conditioning tariffs on Mexico, we should make them clean up their Tijuana sewage mess. Most of it goes into the river up to San Diego making the water toxic to swim in and the air to breathe. Biden gave them millions to fix it and it all disappeared with none being used to fix their sewer system.
How does a river go from Tijuana to San Diego?

I lived in San Diego County for about 6 years and I'm not familiar with a river that runs from Tijuana to San Diego. Most rivers run north to south in North America, the Jordan River in Utah being a notable exception.

The Tijuana river runs more or less east to west and crosses the border into the US a few miles away from the coast.

Yep, and the ocean current moves it north up near Coronado. It smells like **** at those beaches quite often.

So much corruption in Tijuana. Many new homes sewage is connected to storm drains so even if they fix the sewer treatment plants the problems will continue.

We should certainly make TJ fix this while eliminating the FDA. I feel good about the future like that!

I’ve always thought there wasn’t enough rat **** in my food, glad the Trump admin is finally putting this right

I think this is relevant to your interests:

Oh weird what a coincidence.

This is what the working class slobs wanted. You know, cuz egg prices and Harris didn’t explain thoroughly something. Also, she’s a black woman. Red states will suffer the most. Their states won’t inspect food and other countries won’t touch the (literal) crap food they export. So this isn’t going to end well. But it’s also what the working class economically anxious bums wanted. Or something. Also, libs make republicans feel dum dum so this is backlash. Or so I’ve been told.

Imagine walking into your local library to check out a book and finding the shelves stripped bare. Imagine taking your child to a museum, only to find all programs have been cancelled and the doors are locked. Imagine living in a rural community where there is no high school and the only accessible education is provided by a local museum that is now closed, or your only access to the internet is a library that's now shuttered by political decree. Imagine trying to teach a classroom about civil rights, women's contributions to science, or the Holocaust—only to be told those stories are "divisive" and banned.

This is no longer hypothetical. It's the path we're on right now.

The Department of Government Efficiency’s website quietly removed nearly one billion dollars in what it claims to have “saved” through canceled contracts, grants or leases this past week.

In the latest example of altering figures on the agency’s website, staffers at DOGE seemingly updated its claimed savings overnight on Tuesday, erasing approximately $962 million, according to NOTUS.

On several occasions, the DOGE website has been updated to get rid of claimed savings that were later found to be inaccurate. NOTUS identified more than 600 grants that had been removed from DOGE’s website over the last few weeks in addition to dozens of contracts and leases. Almost all were removed during a two-hour window between midnight and 2 a.m. on Tuesday this week, according to NOTUS.

The latest string of corrected savings arrives after Elon Musk, the de facto head of DOGE, lowered expectations of the group’s savings from $1 trillion to $150 billion by the end of the fiscal year.

Other cuts DOGE has claimed on its website predate the current administration.

As of fiscal year 2025, the U.S. national deficit stands at approximately $1.31 trillion. This figure represents the difference between federal government spending and revenue collected so far this fiscal year. It's worth noting that this is an increase of about $242 billion compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Conservative New York Times columnist David Brooks is widely seen as a measured figure who frequently calls out anything radical or removed from the center — but that's decidedly not the tone he struck in his latest article, calling for a "civic uprising" to defend American values against the assault of the Trump administration.

"Over the centuries, people built the sinews of civilization: Constitutions to restrain power, international alliances to promote peace, legal systems to peacefully settle disputes, scientific institutions to cure disease, news outlets to advance public understanding, charitable organizations to ease suffering, businesses to build wealth and spread prosperity, and universities to preserve, transmit and advance the glories of our way of life," wrote Brooks. "These institutions make our lives sweet, loving and creative, rather than nasty, brutish and short."

The Trump agenda, he continued, stands in opposition to all of that — pursuing only "power for its own sake" as it seeks to "make the earth a playground for ruthless men," tearing down any institution or cultural values that get in the way of that. This is the mindset with which Trump has forced universities, law firms, and media companies to bend to his will.

"So far, the only real hint of something larger — a mass countermovement — has been the rallies led by Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. But this ... is an ineffective way to respond to Trump; those partisan rallies make this fight seem like a normal contest between Democrats and Republicans," wrote Brooks. "What is happening now is not normal politics. We’re seeing an assault on the fundamental institutions of our civic life, things we should all swear loyalty to — Democrat, independent or Republican."

Specifically, what's needed is a type of collective nonviolent civil disobedience, wrote Brooks, of the type that drove British colonists out of India or forced passage of the Civil Rights Act.

"I’m really not a movement guy. I don’t naturally march in demonstrations or attend rallies that I’m not covering as a journalist," Brooks concluded. "But this is what America needs right now. Trump is shackling the greatest institutions in American life. We have nothing to lose but our chains."

And another one. This time a US citizen born in the united states with birth certificate and SSN: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crim...1&cvid=a870ba1ccf684b42a1cfa0817413e156&ei=57

A US Citizen born in Georgia is being held in Leon County Jail after being arrested and detained by ICE, despite his mother presenting a valid birth certificate and social security card to a judge.

A U.S. born citizen was arrested in Florida for entering the state as an “unauthorized alien.” His mother and a community advocate showed his birth certificate during a hearing in Leon County. The judge said she had no authority to release him.

Juan Carlos Lopez-Gomez, 20, a resident of Grady County, Georgia, was arrested Wednesday after a traffic stop while on his way to work in Tallahassee, the Florida Pheonix reported. He was charged with illegally entering Florida as an "unauthorized alien" under a controversial state law that has previously been temporarily blocked by a federal judge.

Leon County Judge LaShawn Riggans examined his birth certificate and Social Security card, declaring the documents authentic and stating there was no probable cause for the misdemeanor charge.

However, because Lopez-Gomez is under ICE hold, he cannot be released even if the court found no probable cause for his arrest, an attorney for the state said.

Lopez-Gomez must now wait up to 48 hours in custody for federal immigration agents to act. His next steps remain uncertain as his family and supporters call for his immediate release.

There's always "just one more thing" missing to justify these actions. You have a visa? Not enough, you have to be a resident. You have a green card? Not enough, you're not a full citizen. You have a birth certificate and SS card? Not enough, could be fake, doesn't prove your ID. You have a driver's license? Not enough, it doesn't prove your citizenship. And round and round it goes while people are being unlawfully detained before our very eyes.

Trump deported and imprisoned illegals without due process. Now he is taking in citizens. It could be a mistake. But they don’t fix their mistakes Because it’s a “diplomatic problem” and they can’t do anything. This is why people fear for their rights. This is another reason why people call him a Nazi.
