Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Doing my best to follow international guys has clued me in to how full of it most amateur scouts are when they talk about these guys. I'm pretty sure they aren't watching the games,

I was just referring to how difficult it is to watch some of the international guys which leads me to believe that some people who take very strong opinions about a guy are mostly doing it without watching the games. I'm not going to call anyone specific out, because it's possible they have ways of watching that I'm not aware of, but I seriously doubt a lot of them actually do.

I will admit to liking international guys based on highlights and very little game footage.

I shouldn't have said anything. The more I think about it, the more I think it's all fine. Obviously people are free to form opinions based on what information they have access to, regardless of how limited it is. Almost all of us are not watching every minute of every game. Also, I was more referring to comments I've heard on draft podcasts and draft sites, than on Jazzfanz anyway.

My opinion of every player in the draft other than Demin and Flagg is 100% based off highlight video and jazzfanz posters lol. (I watched pretty much every game Demin played and a couple of Flaggs full games. I saw VJ when BYU played Baylor and was unimpressed)
By the way if I new nothing about any of the top 5 players and had never heard of any of them and had to decide who to draft only based on watching highlight videos I would take Ace #1, Cooper #2, VJ #3, Tre #4, and Harper #5.
And VJ has the best highlight video of any of them. Dude is a freak. I would take him 3rd based off highlight videos though because of his lack of size.

When I take into account any and all knowledge I have of these guys I go Coop, Harper, Ace, Tre, VJ

I'm pretty much like you in my knowledge of potential draftees, and my only basketball accomplishment was being on the Antigua, Guatemala, 1992 Spanish Language Schools Tournament Championship team, where my towering 6'2'' height earned me the nickname "La Montana." Looking at posters, I tend to believe Sober, Cy, and FergMello watch college basketball intensely, so I value their opinions quite a bit.
 
I, personally, having a background in psychology (hobby not professionally) i like to watch for body language and attitude on the court. I think leadership and work ethic is huge. I thi k a great work ethic can overcome a lot of short comings.

I love Flaggs work ethic but not sure he is a leader yet. I think he trys and could be a good leader but not sure about that dynamic personality.

This is also the reason I am out on Queen. I do not like his mental make up. I do not like his body language on the court.

I am a little torn on Harper. I think he has potential in leadership I just didn't see it on the court. It has been hard for me to separate my feelings about his father's comments with what I see about him. If his father truly dislikes the Jazz his son may not be as energized in Utah. I know these thought are irrational but that is my thoughts.

I have some reservations about Ace. I think he has succeeded on physical abilities too much. I am not convinced he will work hard enough to become his best self. I think with a great motivational leader Ace might get to that point.

I will always remember Kobe Bryant on that redeem team. As the players where getting back from partying all night at like 3 or 4 am the ran into Kobe who was getting off the elevator to begin working out. His influence is what made that team gel. (From a Carlos boozer interview)

I would love someone on the Jazz with that type of mentality. I thought Sexton was that guy but I have seen Sexton throw tantrums and put down his tram mates. He is obviously a hard worker but not a leader.

I watched VJ vs Utah and liked what I saw. So I was surprised when you said you were unimpressed vs byu so I looked at his box score and it looked like one of his best games. 28pts. 4 rebounds 5 assists 9-15 6-8 3pt shooting. Why were you unimpressed?
