I like Favors, but why does he commit so many turnovers?

The Utah Jazz have a real problem with turnovers. This is to be expected from a young team.. But my problem is specifically with Favors. He doesn't play many minutes and yet is usually among the top 3 in any Jazz game at committing turnovers. He doesn't pass so it's not like his passes are being stolen.. What is he doing wrong? I notice a lot of offensive charges... but what else have you guys noticed?

Better trade him, just to be safe.

Charge, travels and 2 more things:

1) CJ pick-n-roll offensive fouls. CJ runs wayyy too early and while Favors is setting up the screen, the guy hits hard into Favors because CJ didn't wait.
2) Awful passes thrown to him. Today it was CJ and Harris doing those

Kevin Durant had very high turn-over numbers his first couple of years (I haven't seen his numbers lately), mainly because he'd get the ball knocked away as he was driving into the lane. I'd expect young guys to have higher turn-over numbers as they adjust to the NBA game. Hopefully as they get more time, they get a little more respect, but more importantly they figure out what it is that they're doing that's causing them to turn the ball over and they find ways to adjust. If they're still doing the same things to turn the ball over the same amount of times as they keep going along in their careers, well, then it's time to worry.

Travels and charges. Also, none of our big men can recognize a double team until it is too late.

With Favors I think a huge % of his turnovers come from being a little too loose with his body. Has a tendency to accidentally run guys over or knock them down resulting in offensive fouls, will sometimes dribble it too far away from his body or just kinda lose control of the ball as he goes to make a move.

The thing that I like about Favors is that you see flashes of true greatness. He makes moves on occasion that would absolutely humiliate even a great defender. He tends to look a little bit uncomfortable in the post to me, but hopefully as he develops he'll figure out what works for him and what doesn't and become a dominant scorer.
