Al Jefferson to Utah? ...Mark Stein's Twitter reports

Al Jefferson will have career stats in Utah. He'll get easy looks and he'll get to the line more. He's played on bad teams his whole career.

west's all star al jefferon and deron williams! im very excited. al jefferson brings height and length we desperately need, a low post game we lost, and better defense. i htink the jazz with al jefferson is sooo much better than the jazz with boozer! now if we can sign a shooter n a highflyer like shannon brown... plzplzplzplzplzplzplz koc no brewer yes brown!

would al jefferson be able to play efficient pick and roll? or is he just a low post guy

Read Gregs words more carefully.

If we were signing a free agent, he would have said roster addition, not roster MOVE. Move implies trade.

Much like David Lee, being forced to play out of position doesn't make you a player of that position. Jefferson is not a C and is a terrible defender. He's everything everyone hates about Boozer but with a worse injury history and a uni-dimensional offensive game.

Jefferson has averaged 67.8 games per season. Boozer has averaged 63.75. But making up stats to prove your point works, too. Also based on these crazy things called "defensive statistics", Jefferson has about double the "defensive output" that Boozer has.

Looks like the Jazz are giving stuff up in addition to the Boozer exception.

Color me "meh."

Hopefully I'll be proven wrong in wanting to avoid Jefferson.

In the games I've seen of Jefferson, I'd categorize hime as a worse defender. It would be especially true if he plays center.

The fact that you think there's a tell-all defensive stat shows just how little you understand the shortcomings of defensive statistics vs. the reality.

So tell me, what "defensive output" are you talking about? BPG, right? Amare Stoudamire for DPOY.

We'll that could mean that we aren't getting Jefferson then. roster move might imply another salary dump.

Well, if you subscribe to on-off court stats. Boozer was 109on to 102off, While Jefferson is 113on to 111off.
