I don't know about you, but I hope this fat ******* gets hit on the side of the highway during a routine traffic stop. Those other two fat *** cops were really concerned about her health too, eh? Protect and serve.

Hear what the president of the Police Association had to say:

Protect your own, hero.

I wonder what the whole story is. Why was she being pursued in the first place? Why did she try to flee instead of allowing herself to be arrested?

Also the officer was holding his head in the video. Did he get hit or something?

We just don't have enough information to make any sort of judgement or than it is a tragedy that she is in a coma.

Youtube comments seem to hint towards the fact that she was fleeing from the scene of an accident...? Apparently was convicted for other crimes as well. I will also reserve judgement until I know the whole story, but this is still a massive blunder from that city's police force. If you're not fit enough to chase after a criminal on foot, then you shouldn't be a police officer.

How true. Unfortunately, that's all too common. I wonder how often police officers have to re-qualify in their physical tests? I think boondocksaints is a cop. Maybe he can shed some light into that.

I agree. Certain jobs just require certain physcal requirements. Police officers, military, firemen, hooters girls...

I was expecting to see some serious brutality here, but alas, all I saw was some moron running from the cops who then got tazed. What exactly is wrong with that video? Even NOT knowing all of the details, you've got clear evidence of a suspect fleeing. What if it turned out that that girl had just drown her two sons and was threatening to run into the middle of traffic? Stupid example, but seriously, how/why anyone is upset at the police about this is mystifying.

Nothing new from the pigs in this country. They've always been criminally abusive with their power, fat, intellectually limited, corrupt and fraudulent public servants. Much like the politicians in this country, there won't be any change. The pool of citizens the police force and politics has to draw from is risibly noxious.

It is nice that with the increase in accessibility to cell phone cameras/flip cams the pigs have been exposed for so many unthinkable acts to the public. But that hasn't really helped fix the issue. It's gotten those specific morons fired, or even arrested themselves, but it doesn't change the fact the rest of the force will always be made up of totalitarian zealots.

Just pure crap. Start to finish. Are there bad cops? Sure there are and they need to be removed from their jobs. But to just claim they are all bad is pure crap. Just remember this when it is a cop that saves you or a loved one some day.

Details in the second link for those who need to know more details but did not click on it.

What's mystifying is you and every other American who accepts police brutality and submits to it without question.

Being a fleeing suspect has never justified excessive use of force unless there is imminent danger. This lady was running from a police station, apparently because fat *** there was too fat and too lazy to lock her up correctly. The arrest was made several weeks after a hit and run that she was suspected in. There was no danger to the police or anyone else, and the officer could have easily subdued her. His excuse was that he worried tackling her to the ground would have been more harmful than tazing her. By the way, she was in handcuffs.

She has been in a coma ever since (5 months).

Remember when the Tazer was presented as an alternative to shooting someone or beating them senseless with a night stick?

Now, apparently, for fat cops, it's an alternative to having to chase someone.

At the risk of sounding like an insensitive jerk, the video doesn't look bad at all, the results from her being tazed are very unfortunate to say the least.
With that said I'm sure the cop knew and intended for her to be in a coma when he tazed her because he obviously knew it happens all the time, I mean just look at all the other tazer induced coma patients it's a epidemic sweeping across the nation.

I understand there is ROE and how much force can be used, he didn't fire a gun that could potentially kill her or others in the area, he didn't use any force once she was subdued he called for help as he should've. If people think there is no repercussions running from the law then that can cause a much much bigger issue, heck he was a big dude if he tackled her she likely would've had much more physical damage done to her. A tazer is a commonly used device to subdue people, again it's just unfortunate that she ended up in a coma.

I mostly agree but people just want to hate on the cops.

Yep. A tazer is "less-than lethal." It is intended to replace firearms where the use of a firearm would be justified, but less-than lethal force can accomplish the same outcome. I see it as a way to protect police officers from having to kill a person when they can use an alternative that saves them that trauma. When less-than lethal force is used it should be in an instance where the life of the perpetrator could be taken justifiably. If that's not the case then less-than lethal force should not be used, at all.

This is complete garbage. Not saying I agree with what happened in the video, but your blanket statement about police is uneducated and offensive. Who are you going to call when someone's in your house in the middle of the night, and you are in your shower hiding and pissing yourself?

Not the pigs. If criminals were successful enough to penetrate my building's security and then get into my condo uninvited - I'd be offering them whatever they wanted to keep me unharmed. Yes, I may wet myself but I certainly wouldn't be hiding in the shower.

Wow, I used to think Franklin was smart. This is like saying, "Shark brutality. A man was eaten by a shark while swimming with great whites."

She also had cocaine and Oxycodone in her system.

-Taking harsh drugs

-Driving with a suspended license

-Leaving the scene of two accidents

-Fleeing from a police car after being arrested

Bad decisions lead to sad consequences, the officer could have very well tackled her as well and made her hit her head.

The point is don't put yourself in bad situations.

The police are not allowed to kill people for those offenses. Less-than lethal force can cause severe injury and death and should only be used when killing the person is justifiable. In this case it was not.

If you run from the police, using a taser is justifiable. What if she got into another car and ran someone over trying to get away? Then what? You stop a problem before it becomes a bigger problem.
