What's new

One sobering incident sums up this Jazz team

If he physically pushes JJ, Hayward probably gets a tech, not smart. He should have just firmly stood the line.

He didn't need to do anything other than stand his ground. Make Barea go around him. Instead, he pussed out and then compounded it with the brick.

On a better note, at least you know the Jazz will be keeping their pick for the draft. And the Warriors won! They need to win some games or they'll give up on the season and keep their pick.

Comparing what Bell,Watson and Howard would do compared to what two 2nd year players would do isn't fair. JMO.

If you watch that play, Barea gave Hayward a little shove as he was walking through him, and Hayward threw his hands out asking the ref to make a call.

Say what you want about Raja, but no way Barea does that to him. Raja has actually been pretty good since his kid was born. Hopefully he can teach Burks and Hayward to play with some heart.

I'm actually hoping the Jazz just go into tank mode.

Losses like tonight's are best case scenario at this point. Get a nice lead, get the young guys some confidence, then lose in the end. Show the young guys you have to fight hard for a full 48 on both ends, and get 1 step closer to a lottery pick in the best draft in a while. And to make it even better, the young guys get more and more playing time with every game, and CJ Miles is either benched and forgotten or traded.

I hope the Jazz finish around .500 and barely miss the playoffs, then win the lottery. And I hope Golden State finishes 8th and we get their pick too.

I could not believe it when Hayward just backed away. At least stand your ground. Better yet knock Barea on hi butt. Take the technical, but make a point. Set a tone. Alas, like Favors with Dirk, another opportunity to develop some identity and toughness wasted. This team is so mentally weak it is exhausting.

Haha, he's frustrated with Hayward. That's pretty funny.

And here I am frustrated at the biggest freaking problem, Millsap and Jefferson choking away the win without the ability of grabbing a single contested defensive rebound. Silly me. LET'S BLAME HAYWARD!!

Interesting....and you are correct about Raja

At the start of the season, all I heard was that the jazz stink so we should just tank the season and get more draft picks.
Now, I see so much whining about the jazz not winning games.
Now we are back to tanking?

No question both Hayward and Barea knew what was going on. 1. Never let anyone try to intimidate you. 2.More importantly never let someone 1/2 your size try to intimidate you. If I was one of the vets I would of been in Berea's face bumping/hounding/ talking s### to him the rest of the game until he got a t on me. Hayward totally looked like a pu### and I lost a little respect for him.

I know the Jazz lost and people need to vent in their own way but I think some people are making a bigger deal about this than they should! If he would have reacted it would have shown that Barea got under his skin.

"Don't ever let them see you sweat"

No, the quote should be, "Get your *** out of my space."

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I was just responding to the post above mine that called for Hayward to physically shove him (acting like that would have gotten a double tech, in reality it would have just been a tech on Hayward).

Barea knew he could get away with it.

That's the sad thing.

The word is out on how soft we are. There's a reason why we're being shredded defensively, dared to brick offensively (Minny played half the game in a zone), and disrespected at the FT line.

If your playing a division rival in a tight game and someone disrespects you and blatantly physically gets in your space, on a free-throw no less, you send a loud and clear message that you will not be disrespected on the court.

IMO giving that one point (if only you get the tech) is worth the fire it puts in your team which has been lifeless for the entire quarter.
