What's new

Following potential 2012 draftees

I thought Machado looked awesome in the first half when they were running but he had no clue when BYU went into the zone. He settled for jump shots and didn't really break down any one. I still think he has a chance to be a backup PG with his passing ability.

I swear if you ruin this thread I will hunt you down and beat you within an inch of your life. I am not joking. I have a particular set of skills, I will find you, I will kill you.

Best way to make sure he doesn't ruin this thread is by not replying to him. Ever.

I was so wowed by Machado in the first half. Iona was crisp and near flawless.
But I guess they got tired. I really like Machado though. Short arms but high IQ and pesky. Congrats to BYU but I wish Iona had won so I could see Machado against Marquette.

OT: Perfect player for the Jazz in the future (involves tall., goofy, white kid)? For more than 20 years, Calipari has ended his practices with a 5 minute drill that involves the players taking as many 3pt shots as possible (learning to shoot when fatigued). Yesterday, a new record number of shots were taken/made by Kyle Wiltjer (the never discussed, though fellow 5star player in the freshman class .. that was the MVP at the Boost Mobile Elite games in Venice Beach .. and has drawn comparisons as a cross between Keith Van Horn and Kevin McHale.) He's still adjusting to the pace of the game in his role as 7th man .. but his nickname is 'The Waterfountain' (because he can hit from outside the gym) and he's got deadly skyhooks with either hand. 6'9" ..

In 5 minutes, he shot the 3ball 82 times (a shot every 3.6 seconds) and made 76 of them. Yeah .. we talkin' about practice .. but he has hit for 50%, in game, the last 20 games.

Anyway, the Jazz can always use a big goofy looking guy that's money from 3, right?

I approve of big goofy white guys that're good money 3 guys as long as they play church ball defense:cool:

I hear you. I'm surprised Iona crashed so hard in the second half, I thought they had the game.
Machado looked great, and was passing very well, but he would have to learn how to actually run an offense in a half court set to get pt in the NBA.
I still think he's worth a 2nd round pick if he's on the board. This could be good for the Jazz if other teams pass on him in the 2nd round.

I am glad though I get to watch another BYU game this year.
They played well against Baylor earlier, I wonder if they can step it up and give Marquette a tough game and shot to go all cinderella on them.
