What's new

What time is deadline today?

Now that we're not getting Golden States 1st rounder, we should strongly consider trying to develop the young guys. If we finish a few games out of the playoff race, and Burks racks up a bunch of DNPs, I'm going to be furious.

According to Locke, the Dwight Howard fiasco really messed up CJ Miles for Morrow & Petro.

Spurs got Popovich's old friend in SJax, so they had no need for Howard.

Jazz probably didn't want to dump Bell for free, and maybe no one was willing to give us expiring or picks?

The WORST sceario came true for Utah with Dwight Howard opting in. The rumored deal with New Jersey was so they could clear space to sign Howard ina the off-season. Now they have to scramble to find good players to put alongside Deron. So count out NJ as a trade partner. I'm not going to blame KOC on this one; it's better to just let the contracts of CJ, Tinsley and Howard expire than to get players we don't really want with longer contracts in return.

As for Raja, I just wish that barring a trade, KOC and Greggy Boy would have the cajones to just release him.

Well if we're not going to resign Raja, who cares if we don't get anything? We need to create room for more Burks playing time.

I'd have to hear it from the horse's mouth itself to believe we couldn't milk some 2nd-round picks out of those players.
I agree that the Howard situation was bad for us, but I'm shocked that smaller deals weren't lined up.

No one wants our players....that must say something.

Teams were interested in Howard. The Jazz said they weren't interested in dealing for some reason that a non-moron will have to explain to me ('OMG HOWARD IS GOOD 4 JAZZ RIGHT NOW' is not something I will listen to).

Not dealing Howard is an absolute waste of $2.2 million spent wisely on a guy that turned out well. He won't or shouldn't be back. He had value, but not to us. Jazz org went full retard on us.

Now it's on for Burks to get playing time and some chumps to get their feelings hurt for not being better than they are. If that doesn't happen, I'm going to join the morons of the board and start calling for heads.

you may as well start now. What more do you need to see?
It's a foregone conclusion that Howard, Miles, and Bell will continue to see minutes ahead of Burks.
It's even more obvious that Kanter and Favors will continue to combine for ~30min/game.

I liked the Howard signing because I was sure he'd be flipped for a pick or some other asset. I'm at a total loss for why this didn't happen.
