NFL Offseason

o-line still blows...completely agree with you there. Forte should be ok, but any knee injury to a RB is something to worry about. Urlacher is the only defensive player that's at the tail end of his career, and Mario would be brought in to replace Urlacher. In the meantime, the Bears would line up Briggs, Urlacher, and Mario as the 3 LB's. I don't care what anyone says...that's a damn scary defense.

Williams would play d end, not lb. He played lb as an olb in a 3-4. He wouldn't play olb in a 4-3. Football 101.

If the Bears address the o-line I'd argue that our offense is better than both GB and Detroit. Forte's injury plays a part as well, but from what I've read on him he should be ok.

Should be okay? He looked awful in the Pro Bowl where guys are usually scampering for 10 yards on every play. And it typically takes two years to get back to full health with knee injuries, if he even ever fully recovers. I like Forte but this year is a big question mark for him imo. And to say their offense will be better than the Packers and/or Lions is ridiculous. Your offensive line is the worst of the three and your qb is the shakiest of the three. Great, your running back, IF healthy, is the best of the bunch, but this is a passing league and while the Lions and Packers are putting up 31 points one game and 42 the next, the Bears will be ho-humming along at 24 and 27.

I'd have to agree with Wes. I don't think you can say that the Bears offense is the best of the three until they have proven to be better then GB and Detroit. All offense begins and ends with the offensive line. A great O-line can make mediocre QB's and RB's above average. A bad O-line takes great QB's and RB's and makes them subpar.

Of course you would. And Caleb Hainey* is going to lead your team to the playoffs, too.

*I'm not sure if I spelled that right, and I could not care less.

Manning has informed the Dolphins that he will not be signing there. It was on the SC bottom line. IMO he goes to Tennessee.

My guess is Miami now tries to land Flynn and then draft Floyd to replace Marshall assuming that Blackmon is off the board. Im actually starting to lean towards Tannehill the more I learn about him but I dont think Miami will risk somebody trading in front of them to snag him.

Not surprising to many people brought up Miami for Manning for it to come true and when they released Marshall and didn't sign Wayne it seemed even less likely.
As a Ute fan I'm wondering what will happen to Alex, of course the 9'ers are smart for trying to get Manning but I'm hoping Alex would sign with the Phins, but then I'm really bias.

SC just reported 49ers worked out Manning, and is a dark horse to sign Manning.

The last teams I have heard for Manning are Denver (who flew the GM, head coach, Elway, offensive coord., qb coach and a medical team to go see mannign work out), Titans and 49ers (working him out as well)

The 49ers have signed Mario Manningham to a 2 year deal. Will Manningham be moving from one Manning to another?

If the 49ers do land Mannning, I wonder if Alex Smith will land another starting job in the NFL. It would be interesting to see who might want him.

Manningham is a good 3rd WR. You better hope The 49'ers sign Manning because he's not going to make a marginal QB any better.

Manningham had some good moments for The Giants; but he often broke routes and seemed like he wasn't on the same page as Eli a lot of the time.

I'm glad NY didn't overpay to keep him.

Wow and now this:

Adam Schefter ‏ @AdamSchefter
Here's an interesting way to start your Sunday morning: 49ers free-agent QB Alex Smith is visiting today with the Miami Dolphins.

Smith interviewing with the Dolphins. Alex Smith, flaws and all, just took your team to the NFC Championship and that quickly your team is ready to turn their back to a former MVP coming off career threatening surgery.

I almost hope the 49ers sign Peyton and he ends up getting hurt (Nothing serious just to prove that they should of re-signed the guy that has grown into the leader to his teammates).

New reports say Miami isn't going to be the only visit for Alex Smith. He is also scheduled to visit Seattle after he's done in Miami.

I don't think Smith will sign anywhere till Payton makes his choice. Alex knows the best situation is still with the 49ers. He is preparing for the worst case scenario, which is Payto going to the 49ers. I'm confident that if Manning chooses Den or Tenn, I'm positive Smith resigns.

If the 49ers do sign Payton, what kind of numbers will Moss put up? From what I've heard Moss still has top end speed. The player I see benefiting the most from a healthy Manning is Vernon Davis. I could see him getting 1000+ with 10+ td's. What do you guys think?

i take it your a Giants fan? As a 49er fan, I wondered the same thing, also it seems he has maturity issues as well, am I right on that?
