Following potential 2012 draftees

The one feather in Barnes cap is shooting and he's gradually getting worse as his Soph season closes. 17pts on 19 shots (1:53 left) for 36%.

Marshall averaging 13 and 10 in the last 9 games (since his 22 point outburst vs. NCState). That includes stinkers of 1 and 2 points.

The thing I hate about Barnes is that his movement seems so mechanical. Nothing he does looks easy, besides his jump shot and 1 dribble pull-up.

Marshall and Beal are risers for me. Two kids I was "eh" on that now I think project well at the next level especially where we will likely be picking.

Rep'd. Been saying this since last draft and got argued with, Barnes is an AVERAGE athlete in college and will be below in the NBA, IMO. People touted his athleticism last year on this board, which is laughable.

I agree with both of you to the nth degree. He has little penetration ability and moves too mechanically like cy said. He'll get exposed in the NBA. He also settles for chucking. We already have a pentrator in Burks. What we need are a stud point and preferably one who can shoot (Lillard/Marshall) and a stud defender at the 3 who can also shoot--Mitchell imo.

Lillard-Burks-Mitchell-Favors-Kanter would be the most athletic starting five in the NBA.

I wish you mother****ers would stop confusing me. I loved Marshall and everyone told me how we need shooting so we should draft Lillard. Now peeps have gotten on my Mashall bandwagon and I'm starting to step off, thinking you may be right.

If we have pick 14 or 15, I LOVE Tony Mitchell. That's a bit high but God damn. He's long, athletic as anyone in the NBA, and can hit the 3. He could be our 3.
Never forget I'm never wrong, and will never lead you astray:)

Marshall with 18 and 11. He had 4 TO's in the half and the Coach got mad at him...but he kept it to 4. Impressive.

I wish I could find the stat that says that >40% of Marshall's assists are scored in the paint....

Beal is for sure the first SG I would pick, over Lamb and Rivers.

The other 2 are way ahead of Lamb, IMO. Lamb will get his in the league but as a volume scorer that will never be apart of any of anything resembling a championship team. Kevin Martin?

If it was not for Zeller and Henson, we would all be talking about the defense that he plays. Maybe he is lazy because he knows he has protection, or maybe he just sucks at defense.

Even though we desperately need shooting, I'm leaning towards Marshall over Lillard. Hopefully we can get a SF with a good stroke to make up for Marshall's shortcomings, if we do end up drafting him.

That's been my contention all along, beyond the ONE thing he does better than average (spot up shooting....and as I said just a minute ago, he's getting worse...) he doesn't penetrate, get to the line at a high rate, isn't anything close to a great defender, rebounds VERY average for a 6'8" kid in college and averages ONE assist a game. I'm baffled.

It doesn't really surprise me he doesn't get that many rebounds. He has two 7' rebounding most of the time, UNC's wings seem to concentrate more on getting out in the fastbreak due to the gameplan.

I was the first one to say it on this board, waaay back in last year.

Roughly halfway down where Baya 2 disagrees with D_Willpwnasaurasrex...clearly Cy and I have never agreed. Never.

/I was Baya 2.
