Great article, except it brought up Peter Vescey, someone I never wanted to hear about for the rest of my life.
I enjoyed it even more when Vescey said enough stupid things that he never appeared on TV again and nobody wants to hear what he thinks anymore. Ever.
....Peter Vescey, is without question, the most refreshing, honest, tell it like it is, NBA sports reporter/writer in Sports journalism history! He's the best in the business!
Sorry to burst your bubble.
Just think, we could have been the Warriors.

Heard a funny story about Vescey from Dave Blackwell one time. Blackwell met Vescey's brother, who is apparently a respected journalist (as opposed to Peter). When Blackwell realized this, he asked the other Vescey to confirm that they were brothers. Other Vescey said, "I know. Same father. Same mother. I can't explain it." Seems even his brother wasn't his biggest fan.Smug mug is right. Vescey was on my hate list too.

To recap: Baron Davis > Elton Brand > Corey Maggette > Dan Gadzuric & Charlie Bell. WE BELIEVE … IN AN ANAL PROBE!!!"
Reminds me of a story from Jayson Williams, the former Nets center, who hated Rick Barry for some reason, so when he was playing against one of the Barry brothers, probably Brent, he was really hitting him hard. Brent finally said "Why are you punishing me so bad, Jay?"
Jayson answered "Cause your father is a dick!"
Brent said "Jay, I don't like him either"
Jayson said "Oh man. I'm sorry" and stopping playing Brent so physical.
Hahaham, I hope that is a true story.
I remember the first time playing against Larry Bird. It was one of his last years, and Charles Barkely was already a star, but Larry was just killing Charlie. Then Armen took him, and he was killing Armen. I looked up from the Sixers' bench and I said, "How the hell is he doing this, that skinny-assed white boy?" I said to Jim Lynam. "Put me in the game, Coach!"
He said, "You think you can handle him?"
I said, "Yeah, I can handle him"
He put me in the game and the first thing Larry does is get the ball, look at me, and say "Hey rookie," while he shoots a three-pointer in my face.
"Damn," I say. "He ain't gonna shoot the next one."
The next time he gets the ball, he fakes and I jump about three feet off the ground and he dribbles around me and hits a layup. The next time I play it straight up, and he raises up and hits another three. He scores like 14 points in six minutes. He messed my mind up so much, I didn't want to play basketball anymore. I just wanted to beat him up. I'd never been killed in a spurt that quickly.
So I'm back on the bench again and Charles is getting his *** ate up again. Jim Lynam looks down the bench at me and I just start staring into the crowd. I have no eye contact with him. I do no want to go back out there and play Larry Bird again.
