I'm still a little on the fence about going to the playoffs, but I know the Jazz need to win this game. Cousins has been good against Favors because Favors used to destroy him and because he was rated as a better prospect, then drafted higher. One day, Favors will prove why that was the case more conclusively.
 
Didn't the Kings just beat us in SAC town? This game is going to be tough. If we do win it will be an ugly grind it out fall over at the finish line kind of thing.
 
Yes this is an important game for two reasons 1) Jazz win they remain in playoff hunt. 2) Kings losing helps us keep our GS pick. If Jazz lose then it hurts their chances to make playoffs and they keep their pick. Jazz can't really lose tonight so their is no pressure.
 
Kings by at least 20....

Things are rollin for the Jazz, teams higher in the standings are losing, the Jazz can't afford to lose....

And I'm sure they'll disappoint... It's just one of those "crap" games where the Jazz are gonna roll into Cowtown thinkin that all they have to do is show up.... And the Kings are gonna run them off the floor...

King 3-point shooters are gonna go off, Cousins gonna destroy us, some no name guy like Novak or Kleuza is gonna go off, and Black Hole is gonna shoot 30 shots without getting to the FT line once.

Oh, and Raja will start and suck....

Jazz are due for a dumper after playing stellar ball for a few games...

It's called, knowing this team.

They've played some great ball as of late. But if there's one thing this Jazz team does, it's they play UP to their competition and DOWWWNNNNNN to their competition...

I know how you feel, but if we can manage to get 7th or better seed (an 8th seed would likely be a very lopsided series with the Thunder) I'm all for it. If we could somehow pull an upset off, or even make a good series, it would set the bar for our young franchise.

I know why people do it...pre-live an event and expect a negative outcome. Most just want to dampen the pain of the outcome they dread...like a Jazz loss.

But really, what we do and say here or what we fear happening has no effect on the actual outcome. So why not join the joy ride when the team is playing well? The ups offset the downs (well except for 98 against the Bulls, I'm still smarting from that one) And the expectations are already rock bottom. The stakes are really low for this Jazz team. Nobody expected them to make the playoffs at the start of the year, or be anything but a bottom feeder, so I say take an unexpected cheap thrill when you find it. The last two wins have been more fun than I could have hoped for. Let's go get another one.

I can see this happening but don't think it will. Cousins destroyed the bigs last game. But, I think if Favors gets some good time with his seemingly new-found conifidence, he can take another step forward by getting the better of Cousins. Ty subbed out Al for Favors early the last game in the first quarter so Favors should get more time against Cousins. Lets see if Favars takes it personally that he has been getting his but kicked by Cousins and has another big game.

Could be another step in the progression of Favers much like that first start for DW against CP in DW's rookie year.
