Following potential 2012 draftees

He's undecided. I'm not crazy about his bbIQ or his outside shot. He can handle the ball and get to the rim, but I don't see him as an elite PG, ever. I'd say;

1. Marshall
2. Lillard
3. Kabongo
4. Wroten/Teague

With only the first two being potential and meaningful starters.

Thanks as always PKM. I'd rep ya but I have to spread it around I guess.

One more question. I'm convinced that Darius Miller is a first round talent, but because he is on a team with as much talent as Kentucky has, he takes a back seat, and isn't noticed like he should be. Do you agree with this? Could he be the steal of the draft?

The only knock on Darius is his aggressiveness (lack thereof). UK fans have been mad at him for three years until this year. He has the ability to be this team's leading scorer .. but he's fine with his role as 6th man. That's good and bad. He does, however, always step up when he's asked to and has been clutch.

Edit: Yes, he could be a real steal in the mid-2nd .. where I think he'll go.

If he had played for a team like Duke or another big time school where he would've been featured more, do you think he'd be considered a lotto pick or just outside the lotto?

He's gotten plenty of looks and opportunities. If we win the next game and go to the NC, he will have played in more UK games than any other player in our history. He's started in about half of those games. It's not an exposure issue, it's simply a lack of a killer instinct. He'll be a solid player and an awesome teammate, but unless he develops the killer attitude, he'll never match his ability. I want to be clear, though, he is not at all lazy and his motor is relentless .. he just cares more about his teammates than himself .. to a fault.

Makes sense. Anyways the second round is the perfect place to find a stud roll player to support our young core. Every great team has that kind of roll player or glue guy that does all the unnoticed things that help a team win so the lead players can do what they do best. I take it that's how you see Miller as?

I'm starting to think this is going to be a very overrated draft up top and that there's far better value later in the 1st or even in the 2nd.

Interesting read.

Barnes is now #8 on Chad Ford's big board. Wouldn't it be interesting if this became a Barnes vs Marshall debate?

Debate? I know that I have not been the biggest fan of Marshall's but I take him over Barnes. Barnes is starting to scare me.

Let this be a lesson to every young talent out there. Strike while the iron is hot because you rarely see it work out in your favor. Barnes was a top 5 if not top 3 pick last year and now look at him. The same could be said of PJ3 and TJones. Both were rated highly and didn't help their stock this year, only hurt it.
