Following potential 2012 draftees

I think it depends on who is drafting. If the teams that are drafting need a big, are they really going to pass up the wealth of quality bigs that are on the board?

Reasonable point. There are going to be some teams desperate to win, and MKG is a winner.

I'm still sweet on Quincy Miller. Needs the right environment, but the kid is one of four people in this draft with franchise player potential and that is one thing the Jazz seem to lack right now. When your team is flush with a quantity of young talent (and honestly might be okay without adding anyone else) and you might not be returning to the lottery for a while (it could be a decade or more after this year), swing for the fences.

I understand that this might not be the most rational decision. What else can I say.

Depends on how he does in workouts and interviews.

Agree .. and it's more of a gut than the eyeball to-date.

We don't often agree, but I do agree with you on Q. Miller as having the potential as well as being a great fit in our team/system.

Having said that I'd still pick Lillard at #8-9.

I'm a long time supporter of QM .. ignoring his lack of bringing it. I don't see the Jazz as a good fit, currently.

If I'm not mistaken, we're not known for being patient as kids progress ... outside of a couple notables. I see other teams as more patient.

Who is not patient? The FO or those of us that have a championship goal in mind?

Being a little more serious, I can see the 2013 Jazz as a great team to develop talent. A lottery pick to the Jazz will not have the normal pressures of a lottery pick.

People mistake not being patient for knowing when to cut your losses. Kris Humphries is the only Jazz bust that has seen any amount of success elsewhere (that I can think of ) and it only took him like 5 or so years to achieve it.

A further red flag. #2 RSCI player of his class whose stock has fallen likely outside the lottery. Cashing in while he still has some hype.

Or because he was never a good fit for what Duke was trying to do and didn't like it there. He'll be a nice pro player, not dominant, but certainly a good scorer, book it.

Really? I see him as a great fit. He's a long wing which Sloan/Ty always liked as they like rebounding wings. He's got that smooth coming off the curl jumper - also given his length, he can probably shoot over a lot of SFs coming off screen. He can also hit that 3pt which the Jazz desperately needs right now. He's not a slasher - alright - but one could argue with Burks already proving to be a great slasher, Miller can play off Burks quite well. Not to mention his shooting will spread the floor for our bigs. Just MHO.
