Following potential 2012 draftees

I thought Terrence Jones had a pretty good game. He had the defensive assignment on Robinson most of the night. When it's all said and done, Kentucky just had too many athletes making quick defensive rotations. The speed of their defense seemed to throw Kansas off balance much of the night. Robinson is going to look like a good player in the pros dealing with single coverage though.

I was impressed with their half-court offense. Teague and Lamb really helped out with their shooting.

Yeah, their defense is just insane. Their guards are able to press so hard because they don't care if anyone gets past them. Then they have a man defender like Gilchrist.

If Davis got 2 more steals he would have had a 5x5, probably would have been a NCAA Championship game first, maybe even a first in the Tourney as a whole.

Really interested to see what he can do in the NBA.

Am I the only one that came into the day not really knowing about Jeff Withey? I would like to have four bigs, ideally (Kanter and Favors starting, Millsap primary backup, and a defense-driven C with good size that doesn't demand more than Kanter-like minutes this year). Withey could be that guy?

It's all about roles and expectations. You can't hope that your big rotation is four all-stars because that will not (continue to?) work. Even if one of your guys deserved a good haul on a trade, no one is going to offer top dollar when they know your bargaining position is compromised by team need and ceiling production. You can get All-Star-esque contribution from three bigs easier than with four (you can give three guys 30+ minutes, and a good share of the possessions, effectively covering the effective production from four guys of equal skill or individual market-value). So your fourth guy should be able to cover the deficiency of the other three and be able to step up and cover the bases.

By his second year, I think the NBA will finally have someone who can compete with Dwight for Defensive Player of the Year.

I'll go on record here: I think Thomas Robinson can be as good as Blake Griffin in the pros.

Not sure if he can hit Griffin level, but goddamn, the kid is one helluva player. He was the heart and soul of that Kansas team throughout the second half, with exception to the three point barrage that came later on.

Robinson already has a better jump shot than Griffin. He just doesn't have that excitement factor that Blake has with his dunks.
