Lottery Standings

People have talked ad naseum about whether we should lose in order to keep our pick or try to make a playoff push, but our playoff push may cost us two picks if we win on Friday. Would people be for making the playoffs, if it meant missing out on the GSW pick as well?

I think the goal of GS nowadays is to get a 12 point lead by the 4th quarter and then blow it by the end..

This is not cool :(

Sacramento, Toronto, Detroit, and New Jersey could all edge GS by the end of the season. Prepare for some serious heartbreak, gentlemen. GS is tanking like its no ones business.

That is like 2 or 3 substantial 4th quarter leads they have blown. It might be more of Mark Jackson sucking *** than tanking.

GSW was up 12 in the 4th quarter, called a time out, and proceeded to have 4 TOs in the next 5 possessions until the Grizzlies caught up. Then they proceeded to miss 5 long jumpers and 3 pointers, missing on 10 of their last 12 possessions. David Lee also missed two free throws.

They're not hiding it.

Are the players really ok with doing this?

Why is it not cool? We knew they were going to do it. They'll slip to #4 or #5. The key games were against NO and NJ. Had they won those, we would have known GS was playing for pride. But the fix is in...when they get up in the 4th, they just quit. What this might mean is that Stern finally does something about tanking.

Why wouldn't they be? Guys like Lee are signed to long-term deals. He knows they need help (i.e. a lottery pick) in order to have a winning team going forward. And lesser players are playing for contracts. If they go against what the owner and coach want, do you think they'll be resigned by GS next season? Most of them aren't good enough to be signed by anyone but a very bad team.

Ok, assuming ownership has told players to tank, they would have to promise every player either a contract or money. If one of those players felt short changed, they could tell the NBA that they where told to throw games. I doubt the Warriors players are tanking, I just don't think they care that much either way because there is nothing to play for.

The person they are drafting may be taking David Lee's spot, so I don't really buy that he is tanking for the good of the team.

Good news is Sacto, Cleveland, and Jersey all lost. Detroit won again....so we're around 8th spot for GS.

I think the magic number for the Warriors is 4. I think they pull off 4 more wins the pick will be 7th (still a chance they fall in the lottery) or better.

After the games against NO, NJ and the meltdown (right after a time out) in Memphis, you seriously believe the W's might win 4 games? Odds are they win one...perhaps...after they've dropped as low as they can get and a playoff team is resting their starters.

If Greg, KOC and Ty had any cajones, they'd throw out a starting lineup against GS of Carrol, Kanter, Evans, CJ and Watson. Nah, that lineup would likely be a +17 against the Tanksters.

So the owner states that GS will get back this year's pick and now how many games have they lost since this declaration? Sorry but David Stern should simply step in and award the pick to the Jazz and fine the Warriors for throwing games.
