Manners....RIP

You know what drives me bat crap? When people are at resturaunts and they treat the waiter/waitress poorly. When a waiter asks what you want, how hard is it to say, "Can I have this please.", or "I would like this, please." -- not, "Give me this." and "Give me that." -- it irritates the hell out of me. Be polite, you dicks.

BTW, yes YB, cool story indeed bro.

When I was single, whenever I went out on first dates, I would always watch how the girl would treat waiters, counter people, etc. However they treated them is probably close to how they'll be treating you once the honeymoon period is over.

Probably because most people hate old people, I know I do. Ive gotten into 2 wrecks because an old person slammed into my car out of nowhere.

Once, an old lady with 2 of her grandkids backed out of a parking lot into a busy street and hit me, dumb old person.

The other, I was a stop light, and an old person didnt realize where the hell she was and slammed into my tail.

I hate old people with a passion.

This is very true. They may be the sweetest thing in the world, but if the waiter/waitress thinks "see you next Tuesday", dump them. Get a job out of her first, though.

I had one woman who ripped into me because I was treating her like she was inferior to men.

The best response to this I ever heard/read was that when someone says something like that, reply, "I'm not doing it because you're a woman/lady, I'm doing it because I'm a gentleman."

It'll generally change their tune quite quickly.

No it doesn't.
Feminists are probably the biggest most ignorant idiots on earth. There is no reasoning with them.

Not that their cause isn't justified tho...

I have a hunch your views will change given enough time.

I would do that now, but as a teenager, I wasn't quite prepared for her attitude.

Years back, some Babe says to me, she sez: Why doncha show some manners?

I sez: Manners? I aint got but one manner, but, here it is.

That's when see went off runnin to the pigs, claimin that I "exposed" myself to her, ya know? ******....she the one what axxed to seez it.

Anywaze, I done learned one thang--don't run around showin no manners, eh?

The greatest test of character is how a person drives. If they drive like a dick and cut people off all the time, they are likely an ******* in life. If they drive politely and slow down to let people in and stuff, they are likely a really nice person in other aspects of life. I'm serious, it almost never fails.

Truth

When I lived in SLC, I used to ride the bus quite a bit. I noticed when the bus started to fill up, almost everyone would sit in an isle seat to prevent someone from sitting next to them. Yep, not only would they not give up their seat for someone else, they would force others to stand while there were empty seats. Sons a bitches.

My wife takes Frontrunner and says that **** like this was a common occurrence for quite a while. She said that many of them had their work badges clipped to their pockets showing they worked for "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints". Quite the advertisement, but knowing many of the church employees on the financial side, I was not surprised. She also said that it was probably good that nobody sat by them because they looked like Milton from "Office Space" after he had skipped a shower for 2-3 days.

This might come as a shock to some on this board, but I can be a total dick. Especially when it comes to driving. If I'm sitting in a line of traffic, because I've seen the three signs warning that it narrows from 4-3 lanes and some ******* drives all the way to the merge point, I'm not likely to let them in my lane. You want to merge well ahead of that point, I'm fine with that. But disregarding everyone who moved over pisses me off.

Another courtesy that I rarely see is allowing someone with few items to go ahead in a check-out line. The people at Sam's Club/Costco who have a basket full of stuff but won't let the guy with 2 jugs of milk go ahead of them piss me off.

That's not being a dick, that's called: Not being a pushover! It's the people who try to merge in like that who are dicks

I can personally vouch that this is the truth... I was taking the express bus into SLC last month and there were several trips where I was breathing through the AC vent

Lets be honest, if you go to Costco for a few jugs of milk, you deserve to wait in line.

Oh, and I'm the same way when it comes to merging. That **** happened just the other day whilst driving in 110deg heat, through Mesquite. I will pull over and block the other lane sometimes. I love it when truckers completely block the other lane to prevent people from doing it.

Some of you guys are wound pretty tight and need to chill.

And anyone that does something nice but gets mad if they don't get a "thank you" are lame. Be nice to be nice, not cuz you crave some kind of recognition.

Well, the era of politeness and chivalry died out with the advent of the Internet. As we all know, the Interwebs is a dreadful place, absolutely devoid of even a semblance of respect and politeness. Of course, that general attitude eventually extends to face-to-face interactions as well. And the fact that irreverence is apparently the main theme of many television shows and flicks further seals the deal. Sarcasm and a general sense of cynicism is another thing that infests the web. People feed off of this stuff, without giving a lick of thought to their implications in REALITY and actual non-virtual interactions.

Good post, oh pee.
