Deron is coming back to Utah.

This was written about him yesterday:

"He reiterated his desire for winning and a comfortable environment for his six-person family. The Nets have fulfilled the latter, not the former. "I want to win. That's first and foremost. I want to go where I feel we have the best chance to win," Williams said after his team exit interview. "I know we might not win a championship in the first year or two, but hopefully there's the chances of building something special and having flexibility and somewhere where I believe they're headed in the right direction."

Sounds like Utah to me.

The Jazz are a Deron and a three point shooter away from contending. It's simple, when we get GS's pick, trade Burks and pick for Thompson and another future first, amnesty Jefferson and resign Deron. Then we are set up.

The playoffs are our chance to show Deron we're moving in the right direction. If Favors and Hayward come alive and we give the Spurs a run for their money, then maybe he'll see that this is the right situation for him.

Here's to hoping.

The one reason this Jazz team far exceeded expectations this season is that there was no big ego
"me first" type players and everyboyd was buying into whatever Corbin was coaching. Deron Williams is last thing this team needs. Rondo on the other hand would make us instant contenders for next 3-4 years.

Well, I think Deron will be a different person if he'll come back. More mature person.

Is there any indication of that? Him opting out after poor season and trying to secure new long term deal before Olympics seems pretty selfcentered... as always.

This. In fact, I couldn't have said it better myself. Anyone who honestly thinks otherwise isn't really thinking.

Riiiight.

This is sad- it's like a guy that got dumped by his ex and thinks he can still get her back when he's in a gutter and she's living the high life somewhere.

Deron moved on with his life- he's seeing other fans now, playing in another man's arena. Gather what's left of your dignity, go home and get a good cry on, then get up tomorrow and face the new day because it's the first day of the rest of your life and ****. How about a couple 80's tunes to drive the point home?

What makes anyone think Deron wants to return to Utah? I could see if things had ended amicably. But it didn't. It ended pretty badly.

I mean, maybe if the franchise came under new owners, then I could potentially see it because I do believe Deron likes the state - but the Jazz in its current incarnation are not going to bring Williams back. It just ain't gonna happen.

Trade Burks? Comical. Farcical of a notion.

7 pts, 2 rebs, 0.5 stls, 1 assist, 43% fg, 33% 3pt vs 13 pts, 2 rebs, 1 stl, 2 assist, 44 fg, 41 3. On this team, you make that trade. Burks is redundant, and right now, Hayward is a better sg. Thompson gives you a elite 3 pt shooter, and isn't any worse than Burks. Statistically, they are basically the same.

Rondo? Are you serious? His biggest asset is passing to shooters. Name me a shooter. Rondo is horrible on this team. No egos? You can't be serious. You would pass on Rose, LeBron, Wade, Kobe, Durant, Westbrook, Paul, Griffin, Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Gasol and Gasol, Malone, Jordan, Barkley, any good player to ever play. EVERY FRICKIN PLAYER THAT IS GOOD HAS AN EGO. If you want to win a title, you need egos.

Cue Cliff Lee. He wanted to be in Philly. He wanted to sign an extension with Philly. What did Philly do? Traded him to baseball hell (aka the Nets) in Seattle, where he was then traded to Texas. Lee was pissed. Philly said he wanted too much money. Lee said he would have taken less to stay. Bad blood all around. Lee becomes a free agent, and who has the best chance to win? Philly. So Cliff Lee returns. Deron leaving wasn't anywhere as dramatic as Lee leaving Philly. Yet, Lee came back.

Where could Deron go, and have the talent around him that he will have in Utah?
