What's new

Why is Jefferson laughing/joking with Duncan?!?!

Post game press conference. Jefferson on going against Tim Duncan:

"... he's a great defensive player and I told him before the game - it's an honor to go against him in the playoffs. I'm learning as I go, every time I play him I learn something new."

Can someone please tell him to "man up" and take the game to him a little bit? Don't "bow down" to him, he's your enemy - stand up to him. Get a bit nasty.

If Big Al wants to get Duncan's autograph this series could be over pretty quick. I remember that criticism about Shaq looking up to Hakeem with awe in 95 and deferring to him when the Magic got swept out.Not that Iam comparing Al with Shaq but Al has to quit being a fanboy, even if he can't get nasty in a hurry. These are the times when you really miss Malone.

Yeah, because Jefferson getting "nasty" with Duncan is really going to intimidate a top 3 PF of all time, who is currently on the #1 seed team in the NBA.

I am sorry, I missed the point where I ever said that. Stop being a douche.

... he then loses the defensive free throw line rebound to Duncan a few min. after.

F*** man, where's the playoffs intensity?!? Do you see Kevin Garnett doing that?? He better lift up his game & get in Duncan's head, or we're in big trouble.

I was never aware that post was directed at you. Stop being a paranoid douche.

I don't have a problem with players having respect for one another, or our players respecting one of the most respectable players to ever touch a basketball. I don't even have a problem with Al joking around and laughing with Duncan.

What I do have a problem with is that this is new to anybody. Al is, and always has been one of the softest players I have EVER seen. This is nothing new at all. There just is not a monster in the guy. The thing that makes him endearing as a person makes him a worse basketball player.

But really, guys, this is nothing new. At all.

Considering the facts that you failed to quote anyone and replied right after my post makes it reasonable to assume that was for me. So blow me you jackwagon.

One free throw attempt. One. That's never going to get it done for the guy who is the focus of the offense. One free throw keeps Timmy in the game because he's probably not in foul trouble. One free throw doesn't get the team easy points. One free throw puts no pressure on the refs or the defense. One free throw shows how soft he is. One free throw...****.

This.

We need to get MJ, or whatever GM is fortunate enough to land the #1 pick, drunk and offer them Jefferson, Kanter, the #8 pick (which we're getting), and two 2nds for the #1, Anthony Davis. Davis, Favors and Millsap would be an absolute sick trio upfront. We could defend anyone. No one could score. And we'd still have Hayward and Burks going forward.

But Kanter is so young (and slow).

I doubt there's a GM in the league who turns that down.

Or I just opened the thread and responded to the original post. Mind blowing, I know, to respond to the original post.

Or that given the normal flow of threads you were replying to something more recent. "Mind blowing, I know"

Man I can see why NAOS does not like you. Taking you off ignore was a bad idea. Back you go...

Easy fellas...

Or are you just trying to set an example for Big Al?

I just have no time for douchebags.

Personally I can accept that Big Al respects Duncan. T hat is great. However once that ball goes up all that has to get put aside and you need to work your opponent.
