Should we pursue him, simply as a 12-14 minute a night guy, to spread the floor? 3 years, 7M or something like that?

Discuss. Then rep me for my genius.
 
I've also always sort of liked Matt Barnes. A long 3 who brings energy, rebounds and can hit the 3 at times. He's unrestricted as well. All this of course after we offer Batum 5 years, 50M, forcing Portland's hand.
 
I would rather go after Brandon Rush, just because he is black too be honest. I just naturally assume Novak can't guard anyone.

Plus I have heard Rush wears the shortest shorts in the league currently.

Interesting call. My fear would be he's too much of a 2 and with Burks and Hayward here...

Awaiting, "Hayward and Rush can play the 3!!!!" from people. Yes, yes, I know.

I would simply like a longer 3. Someone like Gordo, minus the alligator arms.

It's not like Novak is really suited to guard 3's either, right? Either way we are just getting them to shoot 3's, not really play a position.

Rush is 6'7 and has a 6'11 wingspan. According to DX he is a SG/SF.

You sold me. He's also a very solid defender, no? I seem to remember that being the case in college at least. I am down with this. We could offer the full MLE, no? Would that be enough? Too much?
 
Also, in 26 minutes a game this year, he commited just one foul and one turnover. VERY low on both accounts. He also blocked 0.9 shots. Granted, just 1.4 assists but still. Rush it is!!!!
 
I have always liked Brandon Rush. Happy to see him have a good year on a horrible team, and then get benched for being good. He's an RFA, though.

I doubt he is a very good defender. Why else would the Pacers give him away for Louis Admundson, the guy we got for Fesenko? I'm sure he has some problems, attitude or defense. Hopefully he gets about the same contract that Bell or Morrow got.
 
I vote rush then bring in Novak as a 11-12 man on the roster. Teams start to zone bring him in for 5 min hit a couple threes then back down. Draft t jones and we can now shoot outside
 
Rush would be good on this team. Shouldn't get too much competition for his services from GS, as he doesn't fit into their tank plans for next year. Rush isn't bad enough to help the team with tanking.
 
I have been pushing for Brandon Rush for a while. I live here in KC and have been watching him since his college days. He is young, long, athletic and can drive to the basket to create his own shot, and he can shoot the 3 at a high clip. He should be our top priority for a 4/$16 deal on July 1st!
