New Hornets Names???

Terrible. I don't know who names these teams, but they either lack creativity or just gone for the most neutral name possible that won't turn anyone off.
 
Spirits, in the plural, has some potential. But, even then, you know they would **** it up instead of playing up on the magic/voodoo possibilities. That's too much on the political front. So, yeah, both of these suck hard.
 
Spirits just sounds kind of like a WNBA name to me, but I could see it working if they played up the proper angle.

And I see how Angels goes along with Saints, but still, that is already the name of a popular baseball team.

I was thinking spirits as in alcohol

bourbon street
drunken mardi gras goers
etc.

doubt thats what the name makers were thinking though.
 
New Orleans Jazz.

Has a nice ring to it.

Utah Hornetzz also has a great ring.

MAKE IT HAPPEN, STERN!
 
As has been said by others, I think the New Orleans Looters would be my favorite choice. As for the names currently being thrown out there......... Blech!
 
I wish Bill Walton would buy a NBA and name them Deadheads. It would fit in Portland.

The Portland Deadheads. Bill Walton could be their mascot and color commentator. He would compare every player to a member of The Grateful Dead and make other Hippy references every game.
