2013 Free Agency - Guards Galore

How about move Millsap to the 3 and sign Ibaka. Have a frontline of Ibaka, Favors, Kanter, some Millsap and Evans

The defense would be insane. Trade Big Al for a draft pick or shooter

I am surprised that I am not hearing more people that want Curry. To me he is the best prospect from that list hands down. I get made fun of for liking Harden as much as I do, but if it was either Curry or Harden it is not even a choice, Curry every time.

It has come to my attention that I said this about Curry. At this point my opinion has changed. I do like him as a player but he has moved down on my want list and I wouldn't want him for anything more than 8 mil/yr but that is also contingent on getting a great back up for when he goes down.

FYI, Harden is now #1 on my want list.

Harden is very close to being a max player. Meaning Jazz would have to pay max to get him. But why in the hell would we do that? We have two up and coming shooting guards. I love Harden's game ,but right now the only way it works is if he plays point or we make room. Im actually on board with him playing point. But that would be just as much to hope for as Millsap at the 3

I dont think we are signing Harden guys. It doesnt make too much sense for us.

Harden can play the point. It's a position that is disintegrating anyway. A player either has Marshall-like floor vision (which is rare), or he is athletic, can make plays, and sees the floor well enough (the majority of the prospects and players).

If you have someone on the floor that can guard opposing 1s, then I don't see why you have to bend to the myth of the "pure PG" if you don't have someone that approximates those skills. If you have that defender, then put your five best players out there. Just my opinion.

Yes to both of these.

Don't disagree. I prefer to have a pure point. However, it seems there are only about 5 or 6 of them in the NBA. Rather than take a borderline (in the way of talent) pure point, I would rather have a good shooting/good defending guy at that position. In other words, I don't want to reach too far for a pure point. If they aren't truly elite, then just go with a perimeter shooter/defender and go with a point-forward or whomever on the floor that is best equipped to initiate the offense.

If I was KOC. That is what I would be aiming for. I would get Harden to play our point as long as he would want to. But somehow I get the feeling niether he or Ty feel the same way.

I really think Harden could play the point. I see him as basically a very rich-man's Jrue Holiday.

And in the meantime, get Kendall Marshall as the pure point?

Harden is proving tonight why he should get a max contract. He is running the OKC offense, getting to the rim almost at will and he will defend anyone he needs to including Marion.

Please KOC, get Harden for this team.

OKC just put the ball in Hardens hands and said take us home. What does that say about him? Dude is the real deal. He clearly can play point guard.

I am glad that others are seeing this. He plays PG anytime he is on the floor with Westbrook, not just tonight.

OKC isn't letting him go in free agency. They might pull what Denver did with Nene this year (refusing to let his market-value yield them nothing). I think it's likelier they get him in a trade with OKC... you know... if he wasn't on a team in our conference.

Oi...

How many max players always look like max players next to two other max players? Not many. And I think that says a lot because he's the least selfish out of himself, Durant, and Westbrook.

They'll re-sign Harden and if needed trade Westbrook for a cheaper vet (and more depending on that vet) to bring stability.

Id take westbrook from them. Even though he might not like or work in our offense. It would be Weird fit for sure, but Id drop our offense for something else with him in it.

OKC is in a weird spot for sure. It will be interesting what they do

He is pretty incredible, can pretty much get any shot he wants. But it sure helps if the floor is spread with 3-ballers he can pass to, unlike the Jazz.

I think OKC would be crazy to keep Harden. With Westbrook and Durant, Ibaka is more valuable to their team. It is too bad we didn't get two lottery picks this year. OKC might have taken that for Harden.
