Mr. Kidd-Gilchrist (I will respect the fact that we are not on a First-name basis), I would gladly sell my soul to the Devil to somehow get you on this jazz team.

I like Kanter, but I heart Jonas. I know it is irrational, Kanter beat him every time they played, but love is blind. I just hope for Jazz sake that KOC was smarter than me....again.
We were talking NBA teams and he was just explaining that it will be hard, for the first time in his life, to be likely playing for a team that will not be competing for a championship. I asked if he could choose a team, which would he play for ... he said he didn't really have a favorite NBA team (used to like the Knicks as a little kid, but not so much anymore). I then just asked him if he would like to play on a team that had plenty of talent, was slightly under-performing, and desperately needed a locker room glue-guy .. a guy that could set the tone for the team .. a guy that could come in as a youngster and have an opportunity (like he did at UK) to help establish a team identity.
He laughed and said, "You just described me, man .. what team is that?" For the first time ever, I told him I was a Jazz fan (taboo to talk much NBA prior to a player declaring). I told him about the roster, the coaching, the fans, etc. He asked why I knew so much and I told him about my partners being Jazz fans and about this board. He was totally shocked when I told him how many posts I have here and that I have a total of 3 posts on other team's boards. I told him about this thread and he seemed blown away by the interest Jazz fans took in watching UK players this year (I may have exaggerated? ---- If you read this, Michael, sorry bro, lol).
Anyway, he called me several hours later and told me he checked out the board and the thread and that he got a real kick out of the analysis, humor, and 'terrible takes.' I found the terrible takes part hilarious. He seemed genuinely appreciative of what we've talked about here for the last 6 months. I jokingly asked him if he read the whole thread .. he said, "naw, man, I'm done with book reports for a while."
I wouldn't call him a fan, for sure .. but I would say he knows as much about our teams and fans as much as he does any other team .. and will follow a little more closely.
I am trying to get him to sign up on this board, but he said he's not permitted to do that .. but that he may drop by and check things out from time to time.
Oh yeah, he also said, 'does coach (Cal) know you post this stuff here?' I said, NO. He laughed and said, that's good.
He is putting up 10.7 / 7.3 / 1.7 in 22 minutes this year in combined euro league stats. Pretty good for a 19 year old. His free throw shooting is leveling off at 80%, still good but not near the 90% he was able to do last year in limited time.
His PER 36 minute numbers definitely beat Kanter's, but against inferior competition. In a redraft not sure who I would take.
I like TJones toughness and athleticism but the Jazz need shooters. I don't see him be a great shooter. Nevertheless, Interesting stuff?
Wow thanks PKM, that's some pretty awesome info about Terrence Jones. It's kinda funny, if we get T Jones, at least 3 of our young guys are tweeners:
Hayward: SG/SF
T.Jones: SF/PF
Favors: PF/C
I gotta look up T. Jones, he's flown under my radar. I thought we were getting a PG but it's obvious that Marshall is projected way too high for his skillset even though he is a real good PG.
It was a good read. Thanks for posting.
I agree, sometimes we place too much emphasis on possible upside. The Jazz aee in a great position to swing for the stars though. They have a great core of talent, they just need the one missing piece that could make all the difference.
I must admit, DLamb and DMiller are guys that I would like to see in a Jazz uniform. I wonder if it does make sense to try and trade to get Bostons two late first round picks. We could get exactly what we want there.

And before anyone jumps on me for sacking up to PKM, know this. The reason I like both players is very simple, shooting and attitude. Lamb could run the offense and provide better shooting and defense then Harris. Miller could be an amazing role player to fill and wing role that is needed as well as floor spacing.
DMiller is very intriguing for all the reasons we've talked about earlier in this thread. Miller could play a pure SG role, a pure SF role .. stretch the floor, defends very well .. and is a glue-guy. As the article was indicating, his combination of polish and skillset are what every team needs .. and likely why the Spurs are trying to pick him up.
Well, I might get destroyed for this. I love Burks and was so happy that we got him. He has great upside. With hat being said I would seriously consider Burks for Bostons two late first rounders. I don't know if Boston goes for that though.
what about a guy named Barnes? is he any good
