Is not under contract after this season. Any chance Dallas is stupid enough to let him go?

Carlisle is on the short list of coaches that I think is so much better than Corbin that the Jazz would HAVE to look at hiring him. Am I nuts?

Dallas won't let him go. He's a top 3 coach in the league. (Pop, Thib, then him)

That's what my brain tells me, but my brain also tells me that they would've locked him up already. The situation is tentative, and I think a lot of this has to do with what the Mavericks plan on doing with that roster and with their cap space (and, obviously, Deron).

The jazz signed Corbin to a multi year contract, I doubt we get rid of him before his contracts up. I read somewhere that was part of the agreement with sloan retiring.

Crazier **** has happened. If he's out there, we need to make a push for him. And hard.

It's a formality unless he wants to work somewhere else. Besides, the dude is a maestro of PnR offense which only makes him and Deron a perfect fit.

How about the Jazz just make everyone happy and sign Deron AND Carlisle?

Pipe dream.

We got Corbin for a while. KOC has talked about how Nate McMillan was unfairly fired because of this impatient league. No way they fire Ty.

Ty gets guys to play hard, but his in game decisions are suspect at times. And i want to throw my remote at the tv when he pulls Favors but It could be worse. We could be stuck with Spoelstra.

For the record, I like Corbin and think he's on the right track (despite his many foibles). But he is not in the same league as Rick Carlisle.

I think Corbin should get this coming year and maybe the year after and then if his flaws still remain evident and the team's not progressed, he needs to go.

Haven't you guys read any Mavs fan posts on various forums that say that Carlisle is a horrible coach, should be fired, and won "in spite" of him? And we all know message boards are where the real accurate evaluations of coaches are made.

He does have a pretty impressive resume, only missing the playoffs once in his coaching career. He seems to like to hop from team to team. Doubt we can take him away from Cuban though.

I'd be shocked if the Jazz made a move for anyone in the foreseeable future. Its not at all in their character. I know we have a small sample size in Layden and Sloan, and they are much different than Ty, but firing a coach this soon and looking for the next best thing is not in their collective DNA.

For better or worse, we have Corbin for awhile.

Does anyone actually KNOW the terms of Corbin's contract? "Multi-year deal" could mean team options every year. And just how many years, anyway?

Honestly, if they guaranteed Corbin money in a multi-year contract, the Jazz are showing why they're a second-tier organization. At the time he was extended, he had not proven anything good. That's just stupid management if they really 'locked him up' and guaranteed him money.

Why? KOC has been around Corbin for the last 8 years. They know what he is capable of. If they didn't believe in him, they wouldn't have signed him.
